Blood and shadows (a Rogue love story)

Before midnight...

"My son? No there is no way." Said the client. He was sat behind his desk in the study like before. It was only he and Ruby in there.

"I never said that it was defiantly true but everything certainly points to him as the culprit."

"Why would my own flesh and blood do that you me?"

"Because he hates the fact that your giving the company to his younger brother and over looking him."

"But he has always told me that he was fine with that. He understood that I was doing this for the company."

"He does understand that Sir. He believes you care about the company more than you care about your own son's pride. It is damaged now and someone with a damaged pride can be very dangerous."

"But why my daughter, why his sister?"

"She is your only daughter and you love her to bits. She is not involved in this and by bringing her into it you will panic and give over the company. One the other hand her twin, the one who will inherit the company will hand over his position to save his twin sister. She is the perfect bait."

"These accusations are wild but my son has been acting strange recently. He would disappear and claim he was going into town. I never thought much of it, trusting my son completely but I see that now I was wrong."

"It's not wrong to trust your children. There is no way you could have known about this. A parent is meant to rely on their children for support...to come and get them when they are in trouble."

"You speak from experience?"

"My Mother has been missing for some time. I am trying to find her, trying to find out who exactly took her away from me."

"I am sure you will find her."

"Thank you Sir. My comrades and I will be waiting in the gardens. We will be out of sight but we will be there. We will not attack unless you want us too, so give us a signal to attack."

"What signal shall I give?"

"Lift up your left hand to your shoulder. That should be good enough. My comrades are already in position I will join them now. I understand that this information must be hard for you to take but remember that I am not certain it is simply a suspicion but I thought you should know."

"Yes thank you for telling me..."

Ruby found Sting, Rogue and the two small cats in a hedge. They were crouched down and looking through the trees at the ground below. Ruby crouched down in between the two. Her sudden appearance made the four jump a little.

"I told the client about my suspicions."

"How did he take it?" Asked Sting.

"A lot better than I thought he would." She replied.

"It must kind of suck being told that your son might be deceiving you." Said Sting.

"Twenty minutes before they are meant to arrive."

"Wrong they're already here. There hiding within the trees just like we are. Can't you guys smell them?"

"I smelt something but I didn't think much of it." Said Sting.

"If that is true then I'm picking up at least fifty men. How do you plan on talking all them out when we are so far away?" Rogue asked.

"Scarlett Phoenix firearm - red rifle." Said Ruby as a rifle made of blood appeared in her hands. "With this we can simply peck them of one by one."

"Is there anything you can't do?" Said Sting.

"A few things but I just use the things that I can do to my advantage..."
