✨Chapter 2✨

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off.

Rise and Shine! I thought to myself. I looked over to my calendar hanging above my brand new study table, 18th January

First day of high school... this will be interesting. I can't believe that it has been 2 days! Anyway, am I ready? No. Am I excited? Yes? I guess.

I stumbled to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and showered and headed back to my room.

Hmm... what should I wear? I picked my dark red racer tank top, my grey pocket bomber jacket, and my jeans. I sprayed on my perfume, Elizabeth Arden's green tea perfume, and applied my lotion, bath and body work's wild berry and chamomile lotion.

I grabbed my bag and headed out. The fog wasn't as thick as it was in the morning. At least I won't fall and hurt myself I thought to myself. Just as I was walking I was greeted by Charlie.

"Good morning Dani," he greeted

"Good morning Charlie" I replied. Charlie's driveway now had not one but 2 more cars. There was a truck, it had a faded red colour with big, rounded fenders and a bulbous cab. It was a lot like my car, well Ross's car... but red and looked like brand new –this one wasn't exactly new- and then there was a car which I identified as a Volkswagen Rabbit.

"Dani, this is Billy Black," Charlie said as he pointed at a man in a wheelchair

"This is Jacob Black, Billy's son," he said pointing at the tall boy standing next to a girl.

He awkwardly put a hand on the shoulder of the girl and introduced her

"And this is my daughter, Isabella,"

"Bella," she corrected. I smiled at her

"It's really nice to meet you all," I said "I wish I could talk to you guys longer but I gotta go to school, I want to head early to grab my schedule and stuff" but before I could say goodbye and leave

"Dani, are you going to walk to school?" Charlie asked again with a concerned look on his face. I just nodded

"Bella is going to school too... I'm sure she can take you with her," I looked at Bella, I knew my face was drawn with panic... I didn't want to bother anyone! she would think of me as a nuisance. But she just smiled at me

"Well we wouldn't want to be late on our first day," she said and opened her truck's door. I stumbled toward the truck

"You girls enjoy school," Charlie said and turned to Billy. I heard the truck roar to life, Bella seemed pleased with the sound and we took off. The truck was nice and dry. The tan seats smelled slightly of tobacco, gasoline, and peppermint

"So you are Ch-Dads new neighbour"

"Yeah... and you are his daughter," I bit my lip nervously.

"Sorry... I am not good around people," she said. I smiled at her

"I am not good around people either..." she smiled back at me.

"Is this a Chevy?" I asked inquisitively

"Umm... yeah, Jacob told me that it's a 1953 Chevy step side C-10 pickup truck, that kid sure does know a lot about cars for a 15-year-old," she said

"He is 15?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "I saw him driving..."

"Yeah he doesn't have a license but he drives anyway... wait aren't you 15?" she asked. I nodded and she signed

"I was kinda hoping you would be in my classes but since you are younger..." she looked very upset.
