They traveled to a sunny area, when they arrived the boy of her dreams seemed to be looking at her as if he was watching fireworks on the fourth of July. I watched them from behind an old oak tree, laughing and fooling around with each other. I’ve always been envious of her… She always gets the guys. Her name is Kim, Kimberly Blanch. I would watch her get ready in the morning. I’d watch her shower, water flowing almost seamlessly from her body. For some reason it always gave me a strange feeling to watch her every day, a feeling I found enjoyable. I’ve never actually spoken to Kim, but I’ve known her for a very long time.

“Hello, who’s there?”

“It’s only me, Kim.”

“Who is “me”?”

“It’s your boyfriend, you dumb ass!”

“Oh, come in. I’m in the shower.”

Ricky came through the large door into Kim’s house. He walked up the stairs to Kim’s bedroom where he proceeded to undress himself as though he was waiting for her to walk in any moment. I crept into the room… I didn’t want to talk; he might figure out that I wasn’t Kim. He spoke.

“Hey babe, want to come help me?”

I had no response to his question. I just walked over and put a small piece of cloth over his eyes that I had torn off an old shirt to use as a rag earlier that day. Ricky didn’t say anything; he seemed to just go along with it. I felt like I could do anything I wanted at that point. Ricky was completely undressed now and was blind folded just sitting in a chair waiting for my next move. I heard a noise, so I quickly jumped through the large window Kim had in her room, and heard this;

“Babe, are you waiting in my room?”

“What, I thought you were already in the room!”

Kim walked into the room only to find what I had done to Ricky. She screamed in horror to the sight that somebody else had pretended to be her and had tricked Ricky into getting undressed.

“What are you doing?”

“Kim, I thought it was you that had blindfolded me.”

“No, you stupid idiot. I was in the shower like I told you!”

“Well who in the hell was just in here with me then?”

“I have no idea, Ricky. It was probably some creep, but I’d have to guess it was that Lynn girl. You know; the one that lives down on Nordic Ave.?”

I found it funny that Kim thought it was Lynn. Lynn was a girl about 13 who had brown tangled hair and had always had a crush on Ricky. Lynn wasn’t very personable though. She barely ever spoke. The first time I heard her speak, and the only time was at the store where she told the cashier that she wanted all one dollar bills instead of a twenty dollar bill.

I drove slowly behind Kim and Ricky as they went to Nordic Ave. I parked behind an old wall to a cemetery that was next to Lynn’s house. I rolled my window down in hope to hear the conversation about to happen between Kim and Lynn. I couldn’t hear a thing but the gentle whispering of the warm wind. I watched Kim’s strong arm movements and Lynn’s eyes starting to swell like big red balloons. I’ve always imagined the conversation to go something like this:

“Who the fuck do you think you are!”

“Whoa, what?”

“I know you were in my room yesterday! You tricked my boyfriend into getting undressed… FREAK!”

“No I didn’t! Kim, what are you talking about?”

“Never mind, pervert.”

I couldn’t help but stare at Ricky’s amazing figure, like an hourglass but with the bumps of a strong man. I so badly wanted to love him.
