Sylas did not know how he died in his previous life.
Which is why it was quite surprising to wake up in an entirely different body, in a different world, doing different things a month ago. He remembered waking up utterly confused to his surroundings, with the previous memories of this body flooding through him. It was hard to keep up in the beginning, the change was simply too drastic for him to handle as he juggled a new body and a new environment.
And now?
Now he is living quietly as a small successful flower shop co-owner, with old granny Maggy who promoted him due to her decline in health. He's been working with her for as long as this body could remember based off of the memories, and it was such a soothing job. He doesn't remember much of his previous life anymore, which sounds a bit alarming.
But he doesn't think he cares too much.
He has a well-paying job; he gets to learn about flowers and explore fields to restock which is always quite the adventure. Perhaps to someone else this wasn't the ideal lifestyle they think of when they think of careers, but this wasn't a modern world to begin with. Around the location of Magnolia's Blossoms (the flower shop, named after Granny Maggy) were a plethora of Tudor-styled buildings. They came in all sizes and colors, complementing the bigger establishments as well such as Seraphina's Boutique and Reid's Gentlemen's Club.
Slowly but surely, as he lived his life as a flower shop worker, he grew to know this place. And that's when he also realized that he did, in fact, know exactly where he was.
Sylas was currently located in Laverna, one of the Four Kingdoms that each was ruled by a respective duchy. Laverna was the Kingdom of Spring, ran by the Laverne Duchy. It was known for their impressive floral scene, it's annual Rain Festival, and where businesses that are geared towards magical beasts, pets, bright decor, and warm and rainy clothing. An optimal location for a flower shop indeed.
It was a beautiful kingdom, and one of his favorites in the game, Land of Four Kingdoms: Seasons of Otome.
That's right. He's in the world of a game that he used to enjoy playing in his free time to destress. One can imagine now why he's not desperate to make it up the ranks in society, or looking for mythical beasts in order to tame them himself. Does he know majority of their locations? He does.
The power of being the player and seeing a bit of the future was quite broken.
But that sounds rather tedious, and he'd be much more content spraying his plants with their algae water, keeping inventory of seeds and planting equipment, researching more about herbs in my freetime, those types of things.
Someone else can play the hero if they'd like to, he was pleased with his reincarnation.
The doorbell rang signaling that a customer has entered the room, and he stopped working on trimming an Elvantacor plant gently. Setting down his hook scissors to the side and smiling at the Elvantacor, he wiped his hands on his apron and turned around with a smile.
"Welcome to Magnolia's Blossoms! How may I assist you?"
It was an older man wearing servant's clothes, Sylas noted, most likely a butler of some aristocrat. Most butlers had similar attire and colors that were associated with their domain. In Laverne, the predominant colors were shades of white, pink, and yellows. Pastels were common as Laverne in the spring was the era of picnics, nature, and soft beauty. With Urmast, the Kingdom of Winter, their colors were shades black, gray, and blues. With it's frigid landscape and starry nights, those colors reflect their structure and discipline, but icy beauty.
Aestas, the current Imperial Kingdom of Summer, was known for the regal colors of bold reds, golds, and greens. In the midst of a summer, Aestas was covered in deep greenery and populated seas, so it wasn't uncommon for a bright blue to be worn during beach weather.
