˗ˏˋ RUI KAMISHIRO was the new minister of emervean. the entire town couldn't figure out what caused their brains to momentarily explode to vote for this moonstruck, mysterious purple-haired man. unlike their great previous minster, rui was single. "i don't even look at women. i don't want to marry one." he says.what is he, if not a great disappointment to the "highly civilized, responsible, law-abiding" citizens of emervean? it is like the worn out land of the town sighed loud, but it was just the collective disappointment of everyone who didn't approve of him.
however, there were still many people looking forward to his arrival.
rui dramatically arrived at emervean, and at that moment, for the first time since the news, it struck to him that obviously he was not going to live in the previous minister's house, that's why they demolished it before they went, so where is he going to stay? and so, he decided to visit each and every house in the town, regardless of whether they want him to or not, in his own sweet time, and see who's environment suits him best.
every single house he visited was unsatisfactory, and he was nothing except convinced that he'd just be sleeping on the streets or have to choose one of the forty or something houses that creeped him out. until he walked to the last house in the town and proudly knocked on the door. and the door was opened by an angel.
angelically pale with rosy cheeks, medium-sized eyes, deeply soulful like the gates to heaven, a beautiful bisque-like colour and had a glimmer of innocence in them. his hair maintained well, fading from light yellow to saffron, and a smiley expression on his face. and, his lips. oh, his sweet lips. so rosy, plump, and even shining in the sun. rui swore he could visualise him with wings and a ring of glowing stardust around his head, and then he could visualise himself kissing those syrupy lips so passionately as he grabbed onto his waist and whimpered into his mouth — and then the boy gasped, probably unknown to the fact that the minister was visiting everyone. that turned out to be true, but it totally shook rui out of the reverie which was heading south in thoughts.
his eyes had widened, and he just stared at rui.
he wore a gown-like sort of creamy cloth, similar to a priest. he was definitely one, for there was a golden cross in the direct centre of the chest. it was a single cloth, from the neck to the feet. he was barefoot. he walked so delicately as if he dared to not hurt the floor, and his voice was soft and ethereally recherché, even his gasps were finespun.
"don't worry, you probably don't know—" and then rui explained why he, as the minister, had shown up at this small boy's little cottage and knocked on its fading golden brown door.
rui was already sure that he was going to live here.
he smiled a little, and asked rui to come in. the house wasn't extremely beautiful, designer nor expensive. after all, it was a small cottage-like house, a bit deep into the woods. it was surrounded by mainly wisteria trees, and some apple ones. there were many rosebushes and little hares skipped about if it was quiet, or if the boy was there. he'd hold them in his hand or caress their ears and whisper to them, and they motioned randomly as if they replied, though they probably only enjoyed the way he caressed their ears. sometimes there'd be a squirrel or a rabbit, too, and they'd talk to him the same way. he loved small animals, and occasionally he'd give them a dry fruit like a raisin or almond, if he had them in hand, since they were never patient enough to wait for him to get one from inside.
then rui walked in, finally, after basking in the physical glory of that angelic boy.
it was fitting to call him one.
there was a quite a small floor, and then a wall in front of it, and to the extreme left was a creaky flight of stares. the wall had a large drawing of christ on it, and a cross terribly hammered on the wall above it. the floor had a rickety table and two chairs with cushions in front of the wall, though one chair looked as if it had stayed unoccupied for a long time and still was. the table had a vase of some orchids, snapdragons and gerbera daisies, and there was baby's breath lying directly on the table. a burnt out melted candle was set near the vase. to the left were some joined together countertops with a small stove and some utensils and one lonely shelf above it, that did not contain much. the walls were a light yellow, though it was fading now. the walls broke and fell from some places and so did the ceiling. the floor was made of creaky wood.
"s-sorry, sir. it's not much. i'm a priest, though i think it's known already.." he glanced towards the painting on the wall and then to his clothes. "i also give away whatever money i get because i don't need it. i mainly eat fruits or dry fruits, or give them to the hares." he kept staring at rui right into his eyes.
"sit, please." he motioned to the chair that looked unoccupied, and sat on the other one.
"these flowers are beautiful. i love orchids, darling. have you had these for a long time? they look quite recent." rui suddenly remarked, because the silence was awkward.
"no, i've had these for sometime but i water them often."
"and your name is? i don't know how i forgot to ask."
"tsukasa tenma."
"your name is so pretty, darling. i suppose you already know mine." his cheeks flushed even deeper, and he fumbled with his clothes shakily. perhaps he had never had someone call him darling twice in a minute.
"y-yes, sir, i do."
"oh, there's no need to call me sir, just call me rui, it's okay. after all, i will be staying here."
then his eyes widened and he almost fell over before collecting his consciousness and staring at rui. "you will?"
"i love it here," "and i love you" he muttered the second sentence so tsukasa couldn't hear. "of course i will stay here. every other house has been rather... displeasing."
tsukasa stared at the floor, then offered to show him around.
