As the reddish-orange leaves are slightly blown by the mid-November breeze from the trees in

a suburban neighborhood and one to a few cars, a small row of kids that ranged that looked like

they went from ages 11-14 and patiently waited next to a bus stop sign.

They are all dressed in clothes for cooler weather, like jackets, boots, and cardigans. They seem

to be wearing school uniforms comprised

of navy blue/white collar shirts, khaki pants/skirts, and black blazers. All jackets have school-colored

accents on all edges and, although completely optional, many students wear uniform matching

accessories, often it is done through forms of group expression. As a school bus arrived, the kids

sat side-by-side in rows of two, except one: a girl who looks to appear to be around

fourteen has her dark black afro-textured hair in the form of short butterfly locs. She tried to find

Someone to sit with, but the seat was filled, or no one wanted to share it with her.

So, the only bus seat available was at the end of the bus. Sitting down at the back of the bus,

she propped open a book to read that reads, "Fate of The Light."

bus and walked right into the entrance. The interior of the school hallway is decorated with

Halloween decor; ranging from autumn wreaths with orange lights, jack o' lanterns wall

stickers, and fake spider cobwebs on tops of the lockers with spider rings in them; to the kids spending time together outside their lockers. The bus attendees walked to the school

cafeteria which is also decorated for the fall season for breakfast. The girl with the book

went to grab breakfast which consisted of small maple pancakes, breakfast sausage pizza the

size of a rectangle, and orange juice along with a fruit of choice.

As she sat to start eating her breakfast, the first bell for the first class of the day rang at 8:10 and the students in the cafeteria and the hallways started to immediately rush to their classrooms. The bus kids rushed into two separate classrooms, one for Pre-Algebra and Chemistry. In Pre-Algebra, the girl sat in her class seat in front of the class.

As the class finished sitting down, the bell rang again, meaning everyone should be in class. The announcement went on the intercom with the following

message: "Hello, Pinewood Jr. High School. This is your fellow honor student, Michael Kentwood with the following announcement for Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance."

Every student and staff member stands up for the Pledge. Michael on the intercom

then said, "Ready, begin." He then begins to recite the Pledge of Allegiance as the entire school

in every classroom and even the front office also recites along for about 20 seconds. After

finishing the Pledge, everyone sat back down in their seats to hear more about the
