(A story my cousin didn't finish so I did it for them)
You were sitting alone in a classroom far away from the lunch room, slowly picking your school pizza and hacking at your pile of assignments. Upon entering high school, your academic experience had gone off to a rocky start. It was a common problem for most freshmen, but what made school particularly troubling for you had started on the first day.
It was your second period, P.E., and you were just jogging in solitude around the track, humming along to a few songs playing in your headphones. It was quite serene by yourself. Occasionally, people would pass you on the track or you would pass them. But these were all strangers, and you felt no need to associate with them just yet.
You were interrupted when suddenly, your headphones were yanked off of your head, the cord pulling you along with them. You fell backwards, hitting your head on the tracks. When you looked up, you saw another student who had to be at least six feet tall. Around him were a couple of other people, some fat, some short, but none were particularly pleasing to look at.
"Hey guys, what kind of wack tunes are these?" You remembered him saying with a smile as he put on your headphones. Then he took them off, his face dropping, and he turned towards you. "Are you a freshman?"
You looked at him, more confused than anything. "Uh, yeah? Did you need something?"
"Yeah. Me and my gang are actually feeling pretty hungry, and you look like you have some money yourself, considering this pair of headphones you have. How's about you provide us with some money for our lunch and we'll pay you back later?" He flashed a bright smile.
You thought you could weigh your options, until you remembered that you didn't bring your own money. You brought your own lunch to school, and you hadn't seen your friends around, so there wasn't any money to spend on them either. But these guys looked at you with big eyes, forming balls with their hands, awaiting your answer.
You were so ready to say that you had no money when you heard a clicking noise. Then a snap. Then a clatter. The tall man holding your headphones before... was now only holding one half. The other half was on the floor.
You recall arguing with him, him yelling at you and drawing attention, and you both have had bad blood between each other since. Whenever him and his gang saw you in the halls, sometimes they would point and laugh.
Lost in your thoughts you heard those oh-so familiar voices. Arataki (You learned his name somewhere later in the week) and his gang walked into the room you averted your gaze to the ground hoping not to be noticed by them. This however did not work you heard loud footsteps approaching you, "hah look," you rose your head and looked at Arataki in front of you, "________ is all alone again." You stared at him but also noticed someone new behind him. A blonde haired girl, her amber eyes looked at Arataki disdainfully. Just before Arataki was about to say another demeaning comment, she stopped him.
"Hey Arataki stop bullying them."
"Oh come on Yoimiya it's fun,"
"No it isn't it makes you stupid,"
"HEY-" One of the other gang members shouted, "YOU CAN'T SAY THAT-"
"Oh shush I can kick your @$$ anytime I want," she said with a glare, the gang member looked dejected while everyone else just looked annoyed. All of them walked out of the room muttering something under their breath.
"Hey you okay?" She glanced at your homework, "advanced chemistry? Geez you must be smart." She then smiled at the surprised look at your face.
"Uh, what's your name?" She asked you,
"Oh my name's ________!"
"Say ________ why don't you sit with me and my friends at lunch later? Not Arataki though!"
"S-Sure I guess," you stuttered, when Yoimiya walked away you felt your stomach drop. It wasn't.. in a bad way. Later at lunch, bento in hand you looked around searching for Yoimiya. After a few minutes of confused running around you found her sitting at a corner table with 3 of her other friends.
"Hi ________! Sit with us!" She called out, you sat down and placed the bento on the table. "Wanna talk?" She asked you, you shook your head. She seemed to understand and smiled at you Yoimiya then went on to talk to her friends. It was nice of her to respect your boundaries, and didn't force you to do anything. It was nice just listening to her speak about god knows what. It gave you butterflies.. It made you catch feelings.
