"Mommy! Can you play with me now? I wanna make you a play sandwich!" Mother, Lila Hasm, grinned as she walked to me, carrying a rectangular object with her. She patted my blue fuzzy head and said,"Darling, you are going to have a little sister!" I stepped back as if shot. My heart pumped vigorously as I heard those words; a little sister. A cold shudder went down my spine.
"Noooooooooo! MUMMY! I DON'T WANT A LITTLE SISTER!" My arms thrashed about, hitting many items around me. But did I care? No! When my father, Harmony Hasm, came into the room and quieten me, I found out that mother was gone. I heard sobbing in her room. Rushing there, I took a deep breath and pushed open the door.
"M...m..mommy...I'm s... sorry...I'm sure I'll enj..joy the company of my l...l...l...lit...tle...sissy." I ran up to her and hugged her. She seemed to calm down a little too and hugged me back tightly. 'mabbe a little too tightly...' I thought.
Mother then hopped out of bed and ran to the kitchen. The aroma of my favourite food came floating across to me. "A&W meal!!! Thank you so muchy mommy!" I ran to the dining room and ate my portion of food; two pieces of fried chicken, a root beer float and some curly fries. This is what heaven feels like...
When it was bedtime, I couldn't sleep. Darling, you are going to have a little sister. This sentence echoed in my head and a shudder across my spine. Well, I thought, well, let me just make the most of being the only child.
