" Mummy, isn't baby cute?" I smiled my best smile, though I wanted to pinch the baby. Mother smiled. At that moment, Father's voice could be heard. "Lila,Lila! Hammy! Where are you?" I ran out of the isolation room and escorted father to mother and the baby.
My parents were smiling happily as if they just won the lottery. I faced the wall, not wanting to show them the sulky expression on my face. Father turned around and pulled me close to him. I immediately turned my expression into a sweet daughter smile and forced myself to play with the baby.
" Let's name it Lilly! It's such a perfect name for her!" Father exclaimed. Mother chuckled mirthfully and said,"Honey, it's a boy. How about we name it Howard?" Father nodded his head. I excused my self to the toilet. I laughed and laughed at the name. Howard. Sounds like coward. I like it, I thought. Then I remembered...
" Mom! You're mistaken! It's a little sister! We should name it Lilly, not Co...Howard!" Mother chuckled again and tried to wiggle her way through. " Oh, of course I knew that. I was just testing you guys."
We went home together, with the new baby. Lily was supposed to sleep in my room for the night. I frowned out of my parents' sight.
I could not sleep. Ideas clouded my brain. For what? To make my parents hate Lily...
