03. Her Butler: Unequal

Ciel opened her eyes slowly, showing her ocean-blue irises. The warm morning sunlight dazzled her vision until finally, she was surprised when realizing something.

"Huh, I'm still alive...?" she couldn't believe, "what's going on?"

"Tch, what's wrong with that creature?!" Ciel shouted when she realized her butler hadn't completed their contract.

Ciel sought Sebastian's existence throughout the entire mansion --- all the rooms, as well as the front and back yards of the mansion. She even checked the same rooms many times just to ensure that her butler was there, yet there was not.

On the verge of despair, Grell Sutcliff suddenly appeared in front of her. Although she didn't want to meet him because of his weirdness, at this moment he was solely the only one she could rely on.

"Hey, Brat, seeking something?"

"Sebastian," Ciel answered to the point.

"Why're you seeking him? Although he cancelled the contract and released you. You should be happy, Kid. Now you can live without worrying about your soul being devoured by that devil. It's such a rare thing, you know?"

"...."

"Because to a devil, breaking a contract is taboo, when a devil cancels a contract and leaves his master, he will be destroyed immediately." Said Grell, again.

"What?! You're joking?!" Ciel was surprised.

"Do you think I have reason to lie?"

"...."

"That's true, and now perhaps he's dying because he made such a ridiculous decision. Totally stupid...," Grell chuckled, "he will disappear right after the twilight was sunken. But, if you can save him before that time comes, he can survive. Sadly, the only way to save him is to give your soul to him and complete the contract as the former agreement. Huh ... in the end, you'll die, Brat."

"Where can I find him?" Ciel asked seriously.

"Why did you ask me such a thing? Do you love that devil too, hmm...? You two make me so jealous, Brat. But you should realize that you two have unequal degrees. It's illegal for a devil to fall in love with a human. And here, you've been trapped by that sort of feeling? HAHAHA, what a heartbreaking beauty, sacrificing for each other in vain."

"Just say, WHERE'S HE?!" Ciel insisted.

"Hahaha, why do you ask me, whilst the only one who knows is yourself? Come on, I have other things to do. Byeee!" Grell left Ciel alone.

Ciel was tired of seeking Sebastian all day. Now the time has shown 17.30, the twilight will set soon. And when that time comes, Sebastian will disappear. Ciel forced her brain to work harder although she was completely stuck.

"The only one who knows is me? Why me?"

Ciel thought about it for a long time, until she finally came to a conclusion.

"Only me? Does it mean that Sebastian will come if I call him? in the beginning, he came when I called him without a doubt. That's!" Ciel's sure, this time she tried to summon Sebastian without any doubt. Once more...

"Listen, Sebastian! I don't care if you've revoked the contract or whatever. Promises are promises. You promised to be by my side until I reached my goal, and I promised to give you my soul! You're still my butler, so come here, this's a command!" She screamed.

"I know you heard! Don't pretend to be deaf! Hurry back, Sebastian!" Ciel shouted in a demanding tone.

Suddenly, the room filled with cold air. Yet Ciel knew very well that it was Sebastian's existence---a cold existence that was always by her side---a cold existence that understand all her suffering---a cold existence that accompanied her getting her revenge.
