" Is it anxiety, is it depression, do I have ADHD, am I just lazy or burnout what the fuck is wrong with me," He sang loudly to himself, flipping each dime-sized pancake quickly, not wanting to let them burn again. He quickly moved around the kitchen holding two glasses of cold milk before setting them down on the small wooden table, walking back into the kitchen he turned off the burners, placing bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes onto each plate.
Placing the plates gently onto the table, He took his seat, chair scrapping softly against the marble floor.
Tomorrow was going to be the first day of high school, the first time walking into that hellhole being a Senior, not a freshman, sophomore, or a junior but a whole senior damn he was getting old!
Kacey quickly ate his food, not wanting it to get cold and hard.
After he was finished he strained his ears, listening for any noise from anyone being up, once deemed safe he speed walked towards the sink, rinsing off the dishes he used, placing them quickly into the dishwasher, not wanting to make too much noise.
Covering the second with a napkin, putting it into the microwave, instead of letting it sit out.
Grabbing his phone, he dashed across the living room, heading straight for the carpet stairs, feet softly padding against the material.
Being quiet in the morning meant no fights and no family awkwardness to deal with which was a good thing for him.
Family time was never really his thing away
Closing the door behind him, he jumped full force onto his bed, enjoying the feel of the softness of the blankets around him, the stuffies squished beneath.
He sighed with contentment, wishing he could just stay here forever, never having to leave the safety of his bed, letting someone else take care of him instead of him doing all the work.CHIME
Groaning he grabbed his phone, looked at the screen, reading the message from his friend Matt.
"Hey, My man are you coming to tonight's back-to-school party, or are you just gonna stay at home all day, lazy ass," He texted, a smiley put at the end.
In all honesty, Kacey barely even pondered the thought before shooting back his usual reply of No thanks, He wasn't like the other boys in their school who like to go to parties and get drunk or high or well whatever they do over there, He was the type of guy who wouldn't mind cuddling up with somebody and watching sappy films all night long or just cuddling, in general, he wasn't the picky type.
"Are you serious Man? do you know how many fucking hot chicks will be here tonight?"He texted back, clearly not happy
"Matt I'm sure, besides you have Chris and Reyna, who I know will be there, you don't need me," He replied, waiting to hear his friend's reasons as to why he should go.
"Kace come on, you barely went to any parties last year if you wanna step up your image in school then you need to at least attend the parties," He shoots back, an emoji of hands pleading.
He was surprised to find himself debating whether or not to go to the stupid party but being the stubborn boy he was he said no and no means no. Even if he wanted to go Kacey knew better, he's parents would say no, they always did.
Shutting off his phone, he rolled onto his stomach, trying to enjoy the last bits of silence before the chaos of his family beings.
Snuggling deeper into his blankets, melting into the softness and comfort
A sigh leaving his lipsA new story, a new beginning
