"KACEY IT'S TIME FOR SCHOOL," His stepmother shouted, feet quickly stomping around the kitchen, making herself a cup of black coffee.
He groaned out his response, not wanting to move from his cacoon of blankets but knowing from experience he better get up or else, shuffling around he tried to untangle himself away only half successful as he tried to walk towards the door only for his foot to tug on the blanket, making him curse at himself as he stumbled through the door."Move it, Kacey, you only have 40 minutes for you to take the dog out, feed them, cook yourself something, drink your milk, and get dressed for school," She called from the dining room already scrolling through her phone.
Huffing quietly, he moved to fetch Zeus, getting back in he gave the dog 3 scoops of food, and filled the water bowl with fresh water once finished he moved into the kitchen, grabbing a skillet, two eggs, and four pieces of bacon.
Getting his food prepared he saw the time realizing he only had 30 minutes left before he have to leave. He started to move quickly, shoveling food into his mouth, draining down his milk, and placing his dishes in the sink he dashed towards his room. Throwing on a pair of skinny blue jeans and a cream-colored hoodie Kacey went into the bathroom, used the toilet, and washed his hands.
Spinning himself in a cloud of his favorite perfume Kacey ended up spraying the inside of his mouth instead of his neck, quickly bending over the sink to spit the disgusting taste out of his mouth.
He frantically grabbed his toothbrush already lining it up with his minty coal toothpaste before shoving it into his bitter mouth, making sure to scrub everywhere.Spitting out the toothpaste he quickly rinsed out his mouth, using the towel to wipe off the excess. Turning off the lights he walked into the foyer putting on his favorite black fuzzy boots.
His stepmother sat back in her chair, one leg pulled, chatting away with his grandmother while scrolling through her phone like always, complaining about their family life.
"You only have ten minutes left," She annoying says, taking a long sip of her black coffee, her gaze turning towards him, waiting for a reaction," I know I know, I'm already finished bye," He said quickly already swinging the door wide open, smiling as he watched Zeus scrambling to get up thinking it's time to go outside and play."Zeus come!"Mary yelled, snapping her fingers toward the German Shepherd.
Not letting his chance slip away Kacey sprinted out the door, running out onto the dark-lit street, backpack pounding against him as he looked at his phone noticing he only had five minutes to get to the bus stop, he pushed himself harder building up speed. Already feeling the familiar burn in his chest and legs in no time Kacey was at the stop sign at the entrance of the avenue.
After waiting for a short time bus 69# finally arrived a little later than usual not wanting to wait any longer Kacey swiftly moved into the bus, picking an empty seat in the middle while fiddling with his earbuds in hand.
Time Skip
After 15 minutes or so the bus finally reached its destination
Chestnut High School also known as the home of the Mighty Bears or so they say though their football players were complete idiots if Kacey had a say about it.
The two-story school was made of solid reddish-brown brick, two marble pillars held up the piece of the slab that had the school's name on top in bold letters. The windows were quite wide with a black frame around each with them.
The big wall of windows showcases the surprisingly large cafeteria with long tables changing into round ones, and black metal picnic tables sitting outside for the students to enjoy the weather as they enjoy their meals.
