The next few days were very hard for Beast boy. Every time he left his room, the people he loved so dearly would stop what they were doing and start looking over him for some type of evidence that he was starting to break and go back to Lion-Mane.

Not only that but when he could overhear everyone's conversation it was always about their plans to leave at the end of the year.

You're going to be alone. Don't you want a lover? Who is going to warm your bed with you, settle down when you want to settle down, or what if you want to be a hero and do some good? Maybe Lion-Mane was right to think you wouldn't survive without him. He does know you best.

"No!" Beast boy grunted, leaning against the wall. "No, I can't..." He tried to breath.

Robin rounded the corner where Beast boy was and he saw the state Beast boy was in, he gasped.

"Hey, hey, it's alright." Robin brought his arms around Beast boy.

This brought Beast boy comfort. He relaxed into Robins arms. His body became heated with embarrassment. He hadn't realized how comforting and strong Robin's body was until it was pressed up against his. He did train very well and it certainly managed to pay off, beast boy thought.

"Did you get the instinct?" Robin asked, leading Beast boy towards the living room where everyone else was hanging out.

Beast boy sighed, "It gets stronger every day. I don't think I can stay away for very long. God, what happens if he decides to come looking for me! If he is right in front of me I don't believe I could stop myself from accepting his offer."

Robin's eyes softened. He was very angry at the thought of Lion-Mane getting his nasty hands on Beast boy. Forcing him into a position and making Beast Boy carry his children. But he knew that as long as Beast boy was here in the tower, in his arms, he was safe. Safe from that man and safe in his arms to forever be comfortable.

Then he wondered if Beast boy would ever want to be with him. He knew he was leaving Beast boy at the end of the year. With Cyborg and him going to the Justice League, how was Beast boy going to be safe?

"Hello friends!" Starfire beamed as the both of them walked into the room.

Raven only looked up from her book before continuing to read. And Cyborg frowned when he saw his friend weak and slightly shaking in Robin's arms.

"Dude, I'm fine." Beast boy said, feeling empty as he pulled from Robin's arms. "I just had a little episode. It's fine, the thoughts are gone as quickly as they are in my brain." He sunk onto the couch on the edge.

Cyborg nodded, "Beast boy, how are you planning on stopping this? There has to be a way to find him and force him behind bars or something." He said.

Beast boy shrugged. "I'm not really sure what to do. I can't stop it right now but I can slow it down."

Everyone was paying attention now.

"How?" Robin asked, seating himself beside Beast boy.

"Affection." Beast boy admitted. "I can find comfort in others. I guess comfort stops my animal brain from thinking I am alone."

"But friend Beast Boy, you aren't alone. You have us!" Starfire gave a unsure smile.

No, I don't. You guys are leaving. "I meant alone in relationship standards."

"So like...what exactly is comfort?" Robin asked hesitantly.

Beast boy bit the inside of his cheek for a moment, "Well there are a lot of things. Hugs, cuddles,...pets...But it's fine! I don't think it would be a good idea for that b-because that's my animal side wanting those things and it isn't healthy to listen to it!" He fumbled with his words. He didn't want to embarrass himself and let himself put his guard down.

Robin put his hand on Beast boy's, "Hey, calm down." He spoke gently. "Listening to your animal side is exactly how we'll keep it from running off to that monster."

He didn't know if he wanted to believe Robin. That everything would be fine. But as he looked up at his friends, they all looked confident in making sure he wouldn't go running off. Beast boy took a deep breath. Letting his body shift, he shifted into a small cat.

Beast boy curled in on himself on the couch. He needed the warmth, and this was something that comforted him. He was startled when he felt himself being picked up.

Looking up at Robin, he was surprised to be placed on his lap. It was starting now? He didn't have to! Beast boy looked up at Robin as if to say 'are you sure?' and Robin smiled.

"I can pet you while we all watch t.v." Robin said. "Cyborg, grab the remote will you?"

"Alrighty!" He smiled, grabbing the remote and turning on the t.v. They decided to watch an action movie.

As the movie started, Robin began gently petting Beast boy's fur. He felt warm with the need and he knew that he was going to be okay as long as his friends were around. As long as Robin was around.
