Winners Party

Max's (POV)

I sat in Kaycee's room waiting for her to get ready. "How does this look?" She appeared from the bathroom wearing a short tight fitting gold dress, her hair was down and framing her face. She looked unbelievable. 

"Beautiful" I replied walking over to her placing my hand on waist. She took a breath and stood there looking into my eyes. I wondered if she felt what I felt in that moment. Whole. I'd missed being around her recently. I pulled her into me and with my other hand I tilted her head up to me, kissing her gently. It wasn't like the kiss in Bahrain, this felt different, like it meant something.

I took a step back "Let's go Wolff cub" I said grabbing her hand pulling her with me as I walked towards the door. 

"It's Kaycee" she sighed, giggling after.

We didn't speak on the way to the party, Kaycee sat leant against me in the back of the car whilst she looked out of the window. I couldn't help but stare at her. She was so beautiful, perfect in every way.
As we walked into the party I had my arm around Kaycee's waist, I could feel her tense up. "This is a RedBull party I shouldn't be here" she whispered as she tried to turn and leave. I pulled her into me whispering into her ear 

"hey it's a party to celebrate my win, I can invite who I want. And I want you here". Her cheeks flushed red and a small smile appeared.

The party was great, everyone welcomed Kaycee. I never had a doubt that they wouldn't and she genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself. Daniel was the most welcoming. He laughed and joked with us both most of the night.

Kaycee had gone to use the bathroom, I'd said I would wait for her at the bar and get us some drinks. One of the engineers approached me.

  "Hey dude, I thought you'd called off the bet" he questioned, looking at me confused. 

"I did" I replied 

"well what is she doing here then?" He asked, and before I could reply he continued "oh I get it, keep your enemies close and all that" he winked at me and walked off. He didn't give me a chance to response and set the record straight. 

She was here because I liked her. I liked having her around. Kaycee returned she noticed the look on my face. 

"Everything okay?" She asked placing her hand on my arm. 

"Come on let's dance" I replied grabbing her hand and pulling her onto the dance floor.

We danced freely for a few songs, then she placed her arms around my neck as I placed mine around her waist. She was so close and in that moment it was like the room was empty. Just me and her. 

"You're so unbelievably beautiful Kaycee Wolff" I muttered. She giggled and replied with

"oh so you do know how to use my name" and we just both laughed.

I walked Kaycee back up to her hotel room. She'd asked if I wanted to stay with her. I hadn't even considered saying no. We were laid in the bed together talking for what seemed like hours. I could tell she was getting tired, I pulled her into my arms letting her rest her head on my chest. I gently stroked her back and whispered 

"I really like you Kaycee" I could feel her smile and she replied 

"I like you too". I gentle kissed her head and we were both asleep shortly after.
