John had never said if he felt anything for me, anything like I did back then, but I knew, from my position, he never would. I put on my hood, and waited for the knock on John's door, our agreed upon arrangement. And as soon as the second guard change came, I heard a soft, firm knock on the door, that was my cue, I grabbed my bag and went out into the corridor, pushed the frame, and slipped out of the hole like a child, as soon as my feet touched the grass, I breathed in the fresh air, the sky was starry, the moonlight was shining down on me, and I hurried down the road into the forest, hoping that the frosted-eyed warrior would pay attention to me, As soon as I got close to the bush where I had hidden that day, I felt the presence of someone behind me, I quickly turned around and that man was behind me, he approached me and pushed me to the nearest tree, holding me there, his eyes were locked on me, and I recognized him by his eyes, he had a certain curiosity about me, and I had about his too, and then, he put the spear to my neck and said:

-Who are you and what do you want with my people! - he commanded firmly and brutally, still holding my arms to the tree.

My heart was racing and my hands were cold at his touch, but I was so nervous and afraid that I couldn't respond immediately, so he repeated with more force in my arms:

-Who are you, and what do you want with my people? - then he repeated with more force in his arms: -Who are you, and what do you want with my people? - he asked me.

-Let go of me.... and I will answer you. - I spoke with a firm tone and pretended not to be afraid, since I was very afraid.

He widened his eyes and released my hands from the tree, and I then breathed a sigh of relief and said:

- I have a message for you, King Olavus is preparing an attack tonight, I assume that you are the leader of your people, so, as the leader, you must protect them and lead them away safely. The attack I don't know what it is, but I know it will be brutal, King Olavus wants to show you who's boss, it will come suddenly, before sunset. Run away. - I said, looking into his eyes, which were now staring at me in surprise.

-Who are you? - he asked me firmly.

I heard footsteps behind me, I turned sharply, they were unsoldiered steps, John, I had to leave. And when I turned to the warrior, he was already holding the spear in his hand, so I raised my hands in front of him and said:

-No, leave it to me. Leave with your people right now, you need to leave," I used my firm voice to demonstrate maximum authority and seriousness, and then he looked at me again and looked behind me and said:

- Say it! - he exclaimed, looking at me seriously. -he asked me firmly.

I then took a step towards him, lowered his spear that was lying in front of him, and looked into those eyes and said:

-A friend! - I said firmly, "Now go, go save your people. GO! -I shouted, and he stood there staring at me, and then ran after me through the forest, leaving me alone and in a trance.

-Princess Ariela? - John's voice snapped me out of my trance.

 -I'm here, it's okay. I'm here. - I spoke firmly.

-Thanks to God! - and he hugged me and looked me up and down for any injuries and asked:- Were you able to save your friend? -he asked curiously looking behind me.

-I hope so.... - I sighed and smiled weakly at him.

-Then let's go, we need to get back, soon, soon, Augustine will be in her room. -he said sweetly.I looked back, hoping that I would see those eyes again, but John put his hand around my waist and led me down the hole, and I hurried to my room. As soon as John and I arrived at my door, I looked at John, and then I could only say:

-I'm sorry if I put you at risk, thank God I didn't hurt you, thank you for covering for me. - I said softly.

- What I wouldn't do for you, little Ela," he said, holding my chin.

- Definitely, I don't know. - I said smiling.

- Can I ask you a question? - I said with my heart racing. - he said carefully.

- You're not going to the army tomorrow morning in the woods, promise me you won't go? - I asked, my eyes watering.

- What, why? - he asked confused.

- Just please don't go. - I asked, and a tear rolled down my cheek.

- I promise you. - and he kissed my forehead.
