Chapter 1

This story takes place between New Prophecy and Power of Three.

Y/N woke up to a frosty morning in leaf-bare. The bracken around the warriors den was frosted over. They stretched out  and stepped into the clearing. Brambleclaw was talking to firestar. Longtail was sharing tounges with Mousefur. And as always, Brackenfur was sitting alone in a corner. Everyone else was asleep in their dens. Brambleclaw padded up to Y/N. "Hey, can you come with me and Stormfur on the dawn patrol?" "Sure, I'll be right there!" "Great, wait for me at the entrance, I'll fetch Brackenfur." BrambleClaw said. Y/N ran towards the entrance. "Alright, let's go!" Before Brambleclaw and Brackenfur could respond, Y/N ran out of the camp. "Me and Stormfur will go towards the RiverClan border, you and Brackenfur will go towards the ShadowClan border, understand?" Brambleclaw ordered. The three cats nodded thier heads and went to their respective border. "Weather's nice, isn't it?" Y/N said. "Yeah, I guess." Brackenfur replied. Well, this is awkward. The two set out for the ShadowClan border in silence. "Well, everything here looks nor-" Brackenfur didn't finish his sentence. A ShadowClan warrior ambushed Brackenfur. "Dang it!" The warrior turned out to be the ShadowClan deputy, Russetfur. The she-cat clawed Brackenfur's muzzle, letting out a yowl of satisfaction. At that sound, three more ShadowClan cats came. RowanClaw and OwlPaw both ganged up on Y/N, while SmokeFoot joined RussetFur. No! I won't let another cat die!" Brackenfur spat. Fueled with his new anger, Brackenfur clawed the ShadowClan warriors with unseen strength. RowanClaw scratched Y/N's neck, while OwlPaw scratched her sides. The pain was to overwhelming. Y/N heard RussetFur's fustrated hiss. 'Retreat! Backup is coming!' The ShadowClan warriors ears pricked up. The sound of pawsteps grew louder, and the ShadowClan warriors hustled into their territory. "Thanks..." Y/N's voice was distorted with exhaustion, and the wound and her neck.  'What happened here!?" BrambleClaw's anxious new sounded from behind them. "Shadow.. Clan.. Ambushed.." BrackenFur collapsed from exhaustion. 'I'll go get Leafpool!' Stormfur suggested.
