Chapter 5 ✓

Chapter 5: "The voice in the quiet noise"

     "So to understand that the fact we've been waiting for him, more than ten minutes is also part of our contract?" Taehyung whispers to Namjoon, and the brown-haired man immediately rolls his eyes.

     "And what happens to you if you wait a little? If we weren't here, we'd probably be in rehearsal by now. Don't you want a little break from being watched by Hobi?" Namjoon asks at his turn, and the other one just nods, then moves his glance to his left side, at Jimin. "What are you looking at? You haven't looked up from your phone since we've been here." he says later, and his best friend turns the phone screen towards him.

     "Some English lessons on YouTube. Those who made this course said at the beginning that it is extremely easy to understand, that even kindergarten children can learn. But I don't really understand if my intellect is not even similar with of a kindergarten child, or if I simply don't understand English." Jimin complaints and Taehyung instantly chuckles.

     "Yes, they said it is easy to understand, because it refers to people with brains. Stupid people like you are the exception." Taehyung jokes and before Jimin can comment something, the door opens, and Jungkook's manager enters in the room with him. 

     Looks like that Yoongi is missing today. Kinda strange.

     All the members get up from the sofa, then bow in greeting, in front of the man sitting on Jungkook's right. The boy with the "decent" voice follows their example, and Taehyung immediately notices how accentuated the dark circles under his eyes are. To be honest, they started to meet for a few days already, and during all this time, Taehyung managed to notice how changeable Jungkook can be. He also saw some things that might worry someone: he saw Jungkook talking to himself one day, looking in the mirror, and he also saw him pretending to eat, but without touching what what was on his plate. He also unintentionally overheard a conversation between him and the manager, in which the man was scolding Jungkook, telling him that he must see progress, otherwise, it won't be good for the younger boy.

     So yeah, maybe he doesn't find Jungkook as annoying as before. Maybe the younger boy is hiding more than meets the eye.

      "Someone is coming today, and if it's okay with you, I'd like you to do an interview together with Jungkook." the manager says and smiles, but for some reason, Taehyung finds his smile fake and annoying.

     Hoseok and Jin immediately approve, and Jimin looks carefully at Jungkook. He may also realize that something is wrong with him.

      "Jungkook, are you okay?" Jimin asks, ignoring the look the manager gives to the youngest one in the room.

     He looks like he is about to faint, for God sake! Yet he just nods and smiles a little. All of the member can tell he is pretending, but prefer to say nothing more. After all, they are not that close to worry about each other that much.

      "Yes, I am perfectly fine, Mr. Park, thank you for asking."

      Yeah, he still use all of the honorifics. And they are used to this already, even if it kinda annoying at some point.

       "I also want to talk to your manager next week to finalize some things, if that's okay." the man says and Namjoon immediately nods. "I'll let you talk to each other for a bit, I'll come back right after I check where the interviewer is." he continues and then immediately leaves the room, while Jungkook just swallows hard, then takes a seat in the armchair in front of them.

     He's not really used to being alone, without Yoongi. He is not used to being looked at by other people, especially by such important people as those from BTS. It makes him feel even more anxious than before. Maybe he should already be used to so much attention, but lately, it's getting harder and harder for him to pretend.

     "So Jungkook... Why isn't your friend Yoongi here too? I didn't really see you without him." Hoseok decides to start a conversation, and Jungkook coughs weakly, then looks at him with a half smile.

     "He had some personal problems that he had to solve urgently, that's why he is not here today." he explains and immediately after that, he crosses his eyes with Taehyung, by mistake.

     He doesn't understand why, but out of all the members, Kim Taehyung seems to be the meanest. Or maybe the nosiest.

      "Are you sure you're okay, Jungkook? You don't look as good as you claim to be."

     The voice belongs to Jimin, but Jungkook still can't look away. Taehyung seems to want to find something in the younger boy's eyes. The younger boy tries to answer him again, but something doesn't exactly go well. His head suddenly "snaps", much too hard, with too much force. He forcibly moves his gaze from the man in front of him, holding his face between his hands. He feels that he has no more air, and tears begin to flow automatically from his eyes.

     "Fu- fuck!" the boy manages to whisper, as he hears the people in the room approaching him.

    He hears the voices of the members, feels their hands trying to make him fell better. But in vain. He no longer feels able to react. Damn it! He has the same annoying panic reactions again, that he used to have before. And even if now Yoongi is no longer by his side to make him recover, strangely, he finally manages to perfectly hear someone's voice from the room. It's a thicker voice than Yoongi's and it feels worried. It belongs to Kim Taehyung, and the fact that Jungkook realized it even in this state is damn strange.

     "Jungkook! Please, please, look at us!" 

     But he doesn't manage to listen to him, and instead of looking at them, he feels the need to close his eyes and fall asleep.

Ok, this chapter was more than just awful, but it is better than nothing, right?))

I kinda wanted to write something more interesting, but I have zero inspiratoin at this moment, soooooo
