Chapter 6 ✓

Chapter 6: "Untold truths and new problems"

      He cannot understand what is happening, he can only see black in front of his eyes. His head burns and his chest eats him alive. He can hear, however, some familiar voices that seem to be arguing with one another: Yoongi and his manager. Maybe he shouldn't open his eyes now, maybe he should wait a few more seconds, until their quarrel calms down a bit.

     "So you don't admit it's your fault? Damn it, Jungkook is in this state because of your stupidity!"

     "How dare you talk to me like that? Jeon got to where he is today only because of me!"

     "He got where he is today only because of his talent and hard work, not because of a manager who doesn't care about him at all."

      "You're lucky, I have to solve some important things! We will continue this discussion later!"

       "Yes, leave, just like you do every time you have to admit something."

       Jungkook hears footsteps, then how a door slams shut, and realizes that the manager has left the room. He opens his eyes with a little difficulty, then he sees his best friend, already looking at him.

       "You knew I was already awake, right?" the boy on the hospital bed asks, and to his surprise, it seems that his voice is not endangered at the moment.

       The man with black hair just sighs weakly, then takes a glass of water from the bedside table and carefully gives it to his friend to drink. Jungkook feels how angry Yoongi is, he's known him for years. He just hopes he isn't mad just at him.

      "Of course I knew. Why do you think I tried to take that bastard out more subtly from this room?" the older man asks, then puts the glass where it was, and sits on the chair next to the other one.

      "I think he's more than angry, right? We should have started rehearsing with BTS, but because of me, we didn't-"

      "You fucking idiot, don't you dare to blame yourself this time, again!" the black-haired man interrupts him, looking at him more worried than anything else. "You were unconscious for two days, Kook. If it's anyone's fault, it's only that bastard's, who overworked you like an animal." he says later and the younger one looks at him scared.

      "Two days? Does that... does that mean it's already in the press?"

     Yoongi nods, then gently strokes the other's hair. It's really hard. It's damn hard to see his best friend like this. As if he no longer has a life of his own, as if his whole life is in someone else's hands. And damn it! He feels more than guilty! He shouldn't have left him alone two days ago. He shouldn't have been missing from the meeting, two days ago. He knew Jungkook's condition, he knew how the manager behaves with him, especially when he is alone with him. And yet... he was not there.

      "Yes, but don't worry, I'll sort this out somehow. Now, your priority should be your health, which, according to the doctor, is not as good as it should be." the older man says, and the other just looks at him absently.

      "I'm fine, Yoongi hyung."

      The black-haired man just rolls his eyes. He heard this lie too many times. It is more than just annoying now.

       "You're not fine, Kook, and we both know it. The last time I asked you, you said that you no longer have problems with panic attacks." Yoongi says and the younger one moves his gaze to the floor. "Since when did they come back? Since when are you hiding this from me?" he asks later, and Jungkoook just shrugs his shoulders.

       "They never left. I just wanted to... stop worrying about me so much, okay? You're the only one who really cares about me, I didn't want you... to get tired of me as well, hyung." Jungkook whispers the last words, but the older one one hears anyway, then a faint smile appears on his face.

      Yes, this is Jeon Jungkook, the boy who thinks too much, in a way too strange and dark. He should have realized in advance that something is not right. He should have realized beforehand that Jungkook was hiding something from him.

      "You know there's no way I can get enough of you, idiot. You are like a younger and mindless brother of mine." Yoongi tries to joke, then they both laugh a little. "But from now on, please promise me you'll tell me everything, okay? You know very well that above all, we two are family."

      Jungkook tries his best not to start crying. Yoongi doesn't really talk that openly about what he feels, and now, he recognized how much Jungkook means in his eyes. It's something big. He knows that he is very lucky to have him in his life.

      "Ok, I promise." the younger one, simply replies, as the black-haired man takes his phone out from the pocket, then sighs, not so subtly. "What happened?" Jungkook asks after, and the other one just scratches the back of his neck, probably wondering if he should tell him or not.

      "In addition to the news that you are sick and that you fainted during rehearsals, there have been other reports about you and Kim Taehyung." Yoongi says and the younger one frowns, not understanding what he means.

       "With me and Taehyung?"

        "Yes, it seems that Taehyung was the one who carried you in his arms to the car, and some paparazzi captured these moments. The fans have already started calling you a ship, and your name, apparently, would be "taekook". " Yoongi tells him, and the other just looks at him without any big reaction.

       Yes, maybe on the outside it seems that he is not worried, but inside, he wants to scream. He already knows that because of these idiotic pictures, more scandals will come out. He doesn't even want to think about what he will have to face again.

        "Fuck."
