They rode in silence with the occasional Borf from the dog in the backseat until Franky whispered, "if you can tell me, what happened with Loid?

Anya's lower lip shook and she felt her stomach tie itself even tighter into knots.

"It's okay. Take your time."

Again, dark tears fell down her face, staining the car seat dark gray.

"P-Papa was chasing the bad guys. Then he went into a tower with a big clock on it and he—he opened a door but the bad guy knew he would do that so h-he made a big explosion and then I—I found—"

"Hey..." Franky kept his eyes on the rise but reached over to squeeze one of Anya's tiny hands in his. "You did so good, kid. You're really brave. Now, if you're up for it, can you tell me what happened to your mother?"

This was easier for Anya to explain, since she'd been there, and after a few minutes, Franky was all caught up.

"Wow..." was all he could say. This poor kid, she's been through so much, and she's still sane. That's impressive all on its own. You better be there for her, Franky! "We're gonna save your mama, alright? The spies will help."

"Thank you, scruffy..." Anya sniffled and tried to smile but her heart still felt empty and dark. She had finally realized that she couldn't accept the fact that her father was gone, no matter how hard she tried. But maybe it was better this way. Maybe, if she pretended like it had never happened, it would go away, and everything would be fine. Maybe, just maybe, this was all a dream.

If it were, I wish I could wake up...

The rest of the ride was silent again, Anya trying the whole way to convince herself  none of it was real. And, at last they reached a tall, normal looking blue house.

"I thought you were taking me to the spies," Anya complained.

"I did. We're here."

"Here?" Anya took another long look at the house but she really couldn't see anything special about it.

They hopped out of the car and Anya told the dog to be good in the car after they'd opened all the windows for it. Then they entered the house together. Franky had a key to the front door and when they stepped inside it looked strangely...normal? The inside was a light yellow color with cute white window frames, a living room, and connected dining room, and then stairs to the upper portion of the house.

"It doesn't look like much," Franky assured her when he saw the confused look on her face, "but trust me, it gets better." I've only been here once in my life and it scared the shit out of me! What am I doing here!? Ahhhhhh!!!!

That doesn't sound good... Anya worried at a corner of her dress.

They crept through the silent house until they reached the basement door and Franky knocked many times in a specific pattern too fast for Anya to follow. After a few seconds there was a click, followed by a loud thud, and the door swung inwards, revealing darkness beyond it. The door was made up of a normal wooden door and then a five inch thick metal wall, also on hinges.

"Business?" a gruff voice asked from inside, his figure outlined by shadow.

Wait, isn't that Twilight's kid? Why's it here, and with the informant?

"We have a lot to tell the handler." Franky explained. "And this kid has been through too much already. Get her a hot chocolate or something."

"Very well." The shadowy figure stepped aside and they started into the darkness, the door clicking shut behind them.
