TW: Repressing of regression
Day after day the missions became harder and harder
Pyro normally enjoyed missions because of the escape from the base was always a new setting but Pyro wasn't enjoying any of the new missions
During missions like the ones lately Pyro just wanted to sit back and maybe cuddle with their toy unicorn but there was a little thing in the back of their brain that was telling them if they decided to go through with that wish, that the team would fail
All that work gone. Thanks to their silly wishes
Medic encouraged the idea to take a little break once and awhile but Pyro wouldn't let themself get that wish.
On this day Soldier received information on the next mission and boy did this one sound hard
Pyro thought about all the impossible things they will have to do in this mission
Everything in their brain was focused so on the mission and how much they wish they could enjoy the missions like before
They wanted the spark of joy that the suffering of others used to cause them but it was just too hard to think about joy lately
Even the magic was gone
No one (not even Pyro) Heard the muffled cries coming from the masked mercenary
But Medic did. He knew the sound of Pyro's cries all too well. Medic knew what it was like to get too stressed and he wanted to make sure that Pyro got their well deserved break
Medic looked up at one of the only clocks that weren't broken in the base and he knew that exact excuse to get Pyro out of there
"Herr Soldier. I get that this mission is important but I have a small thing to get to with Pyro. So please may we cut the meeting short? I'm sure we all the the idea of the meeting"
No one could see Soldier's eyes but his eye definitely twitched
He yelled and turned around to try to explain better why this meeting was important but during that time Medic quickly escorted Pyro to their room
"It is okay Pyro. Ich bin für Sie da"
Pyro looks up at Medic and mumbles out a little 'too much'
"It has been, Pyro. That's why you need to let yourself take breaks."
'I'm sorry..'
"Do not be sorry. If I'm being fair I've had to take steps back during these missions too"
Pyro sniffles and gets out a small 'really?'
"Ja. I know you're scared to take breaks. I can feel it. I've been that way too, and you do not want to turn out like me"
Medic holds over Ballooniecorn and Pyro takes the toy in their arms
Medic then held his arms open and said "Come here Kleine Taube. It will be ok"
Pyro went over and sat there in Medic's arms as Medic softly hummed
And slowly but surely, the magic came back
