I open the green door leading to my childhood home, and flinch when my mom appears in front of me.
"What are you doing here? I told you not to worry. You should've stayed in Europe and left me here to deal with everything." She greets me with a stern look."Mom, you shouldn't have to go through this by yourself. I know I wasn't that close to Dad, but I'm here for you-to comfort you." I take a long breath.
"Mhm, what are you really here for?" she narrows her eyes.
"You really don't believe me, do you?""Well why should I, Bree? You never even said goodbye to us before stepping on that plane to Europe!" Her voice starts raising.
I already predicted this would happen, so I wasn't surprised."Fine, Mom. If you don't want me to be here, I'll go." I grab the door handle and yank the door open. The cool autumn air wisps my hair into my eyes as I step out into the cold. Blinded by my hair, I bump into a large hard wall, or was it really a wall?
"Oops. Didn't see you there." I hear a deep, raspy voice in my ear.
"Mom, care to explain thi-" I brush the hair out of my eyes and look up.
Standing in front of me is a handsome six foot, hazel eyed, dark brown haired, olive skinned, muscular man. He stared down at me with a grin on his face."You okay? It looks like you lost your words." he chuckled.
"Oh," my mom cut in, "This is Raphael Perez, he was a co-worker of your father's and he's here for the funeral.""Dad never told me about this." I gestured towards him.
"Is that a bad thing?" Raphael now cut in."Um..." I shrunk back a little bit, planning my next response.
"Nevermind." I let him into the house.A/n Ooo this is getting good. Ily all thank you for reading
Chapter 2 Raphael's POV
As I walk up the steps to my boss's house, I wonder if I should've gotten a hotel room. It was a small, blue cottage and didn't look like it had enough space for many people to live in it. I knock on the door but I hear muffled yelling getting louder as it comes closer to the door."Fine, Mom. If you don't want me to be here, I'll go." I finally hear as the door is ripped open and a blond girl steps out, bumping right into my chest. I half gasp half laugh as I say,
"Oops. Didn't see you there." she entirely freezes when I say this before she returns back to her angry demeanor towards her mother, the wife of my boss."Mom, care to explain thi-" she sweeps the golder hair out of her face entirely and lifts her sapphire eyes to meet mine. She was so, so beautiful. Fue amor a primera vista.
