HAIIII i'm back!!

I couldn't remember anything of what happened after the shattering of Draco's slider door. I must've passed out, but when I came to I was still laying on the midnight-black carpet of my roommate's living room. My heart hurt like a motherfucker, and my stomach churned with the nausea of Taco Bell fire sauce- and stomach acid.

It was quiet, and no music was playing anymore. It was pitch-black outside, the melancholy of the night bringing me and my black soul comfort. I sat up and groaned, peering around the living room and to the kitchen area. The back of someone caught my attention, and when they turned around I realized that it was Shadow.

"Shadow..?" I was cut off by a round of coughing. I hacked my lungs out into my sleeve, and when I pulled away there were crimson speckles on my sweater.

   Oh, blood.

"Raven! You're awake." Shadow was at my side in seconds after jumping the dining room bar top. Her emerald-forest-green eyes twinkled with worry, making me feel seen and heard amidst the broken apartment of my friend Draco. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I answered, disregarding the blood splatters on my sleeve and looking around. "Where.. What happened?"

Shadow bit her lip, helping me up off the floor. "We were attacked," she answered. "Some asshat threw a brick through Draco's slider door and kidnapped him."

"What!?" I could hardly believe my ears. Memories of my Brendon Uris bestie flashed through my mind, and my lip quivered as I was seated on the couch. "Where- Who took him?"

This next question made Shadow's eyes darken in rage. "The fucking prep jock assholes of the frat house down the street," she snarled in response. "They took him and threatened the rest of us with a handgun and a DVD copy of The Notebook. We were defenseless against them."

The mere thought of being within a vicinity of The Notebook passed a shudder through my weak and nauseated body. I couldn't blame my new emo friends for what happened to Draco. The thought of my bestie being manhandled by a bunch of emo-hating frat boys made my blood curdle with rage too.

"Do you know where they took him?" was my next question. "Where's everyone else?"

Shadow, who was now seated next to me, fidgeted with the end of her bone-patterned neon purple sweater. "They went to find Draco," she answered meekly. "I-I stayed to keep an eye on you- and to tell you what the deets were. I left you on the floor to not wake you."

I smiled, despite myself. "Thanks Shad- can- can I call you that?"

Shadow smiled back and nodded. "Yeah, and no problem." After saying this, my black-haired friend's smile fell. "I have to go though," she said. "I got a text from Phoenix before you woke up. He said they found Draco.. and they're gonna have a war against the frat boys who took him."

I could hardly believe my ears. "A- a war?"

Shadow nodded, biting her lip. It was kind of cute, the way she made expressions as she spoke. I didn't verbalize these thoughts though. "Yes," she answered. "You're new to our group so you don't know, but these frat boy bitches have been terrorizing us for years. Some of us- like myself- go to the same college as them. Chad goes out of his way to make our lives a living hell just because he doesn't like emo kids."

   "Chad?"

"The leader of the frat whores." Shadow spat angrily, hissing like a cat at Chad's name. "We're going to fight him and his dipshit army to get rid of them once and for all. It's going to be tough, so none of us expect you to join." The girl with the viridescent eyes now hesitated, calming down. "After all, you just woke up from blacking out, so.."

At this, I reached out and clutched Shadow's hands. In the darkness of the living room, her eyes locked with mine. They were pools of moss- vibrant and darkly stunning.

"I'm joining you," I decided, snarling. "We'll get Draco back, and Chad won't lay a hand on him ever again."

Shadow smiled determinedly. "You're the best, Rave," she said.

I blushed, but still mustered up the courage to ask, "When's the fight?"

Time to go to war with some preppy asshats.
