The Iron Lung: Humanity's Last Chance

Prologue

Around 357 EIC, Epoch of Interplanetary Colonization. The Quiet Rapture happened. What happened was, first of all, any radio contact with any kind of colonized planets were suddenly cut. It was soon later discovered that all known planets with sentient life, a habitable atmosphere, had any sort of natural resources, and all of the stars in the whole observable universe were gone. All there was left of the Quiet Rapture was just small, unhabitable moons and asteroids. Not forgetting that also a tiny piece of humanity was left, the C.O.I, Consolidation of Iron, and Eden. The C.O.I is a group of three space stations and two spacecrafts, the number of people living there after the Quiet Rapture is 257, and its name came from how iron and steel were used to make two of its main stations. The space station, Eden is the largest man-made structure in history that still exists after the Quiet Rapture, it's the main space station for Mars, its current population is almost twice of the C.O.Is, it is 468, and they still have one of the last known trees in the whole cold, empty universe, currently residing in their interior garden. Of course, the C.O.I absolutely despises Eden because of their attack on one of their space stations in 362 EIC.

Now, a couple of years later, after the Quiet Rapture, the C.O.I discovered something... Questionable. They found four moons that had blood oceans, two of those blood moons were moon at-5, and moon z-8 are the most important ones since the C.O.I have control of them. They're actually more interested about moon at-5 than moon z-8 for some odd reason. They have found something weird about these moons, turns out, the blood oceans on them are... Human blood, they aren't sure why and how, where it comes from and how it keeps itself in a liquid form. Moon z-8 was mostly used for conviction realization before they discovered moon at-5. If you were wondering what conviction realization is, in C.O.I's words, "A humane way of criminal justice used by the C.O.I, where crimes are repaid by rendering service to the general collective." 

The C.O.I has been wanting to send someone down there to take some pictures of the deep red sea, and well, they have someone.
