About six months into their journey to Rocky's homeworld. Grace and Rocky find something unexpected in the void of space. A battered old submarine with someone inside. Will Grace and Rocky have a new ally on the way to Erid? Or will they have to shoot him out of the airlock? How did he even get there? An Iron Lung and Project Hail Mary crossover where time travel is possible, and new beginnings are too.

A radio transmission comes alive in the Hail Mary. Cursewords that are being broadcasted from the moon orbiting Adrian. Intrigued by the unexpected call, Grace and Rocky, descende into a nightmare they never could have calculated: here the Astrophage has mutated, liquefying the entire moon into an ocean of living blood. When the duo plunge into the deep to answer the call, they pull out two survivors, two convicts.

The Hail Mary's radar detects a celestial body. An immense body, unmistakably different from an ordinary asteroid. Its size gives it away. The ship approaches it from the right. Too close. Grace doesn't want to waste fuel escaping its orbit, if they end up trapped. He assumes he is glimpsing the last planet of a solar system. But it's not. He feels his heart tighten in his chest, and a lump in his throat. He leans his body forward as far as the restraints allow, while gripping the sides of the chair with all the strength his tired muscles allow him to use. He gulps. The faint starlight reflects upon the blood. The thick, red liquid devours its glow with a voracious gaze. The surface of its crimson mantle watches the heavens in expectation, stirring - restless - before the presence of eternity. The void stretches infinite, inexorable, ineffable. It corrodes air, flesh, and iron.

Basically characters from different fandoms are being sent to a theater to watch some Death Battles from the Death Battle fanon wiki.

Grace and Rocky are on a mission to prevent the devastation of astrophage until they find an odd solar system where everything is already dead (except for a few space stations and a moon made of blood). They find a beautiful man named Simon (barely alive) and decide to rescue him. Will they be successful? Will Grace finally have a human friend? And is Grace actually as straight as he thinks? My first full fanfic lol (please be nice). I would recommend you watch both Project Hail Mary and Iron Lung before reading (there will be spoilers for both). This is set after Grace and Rocky find Simon adrift in space on the SM-13 and pull him out. They've been on the Hail Mary for a while, on the way to Erid. And Grace fell in love so hard that he hit his head and his brain fell out. Or, in other words, Grace accidentally calls Simon beautiful and freaks out about it.

Grace woke up with a gasp, eyes flying open as he gripped the sheets tightly. He was drenched in cold sweat. His hair stuck to his forehead, and his shirt had an obvious wet spot. His heart was beating ferociously and his chest heaved with every breath he was greedily taking. And he could never take a satisfying breath, as a tight squeeze in his chest prevented him from doing so. He had a nightmare.

Simon wasn't supposed to live that, everybody knew that, he knew that, but here he was. God he wishes he wasn't alive

I'm very fixated on iron lung at the moment. I have had many thoughts and things pop up since watching it and I figured it would be good to express my creativity.
