About six months into their journey to Rocky's homeworld. Grace and Rocky find something unexpected in the void of space. A battered old submarine with someone inside. Will Grace and Rocky have a new ally on the way to Erid? Or will they have to shoot him out of the airlock? How did he even get there? An Iron Lung and Project Hail Mary crossover where time travel is possible, and new beginnings are too.

A Bloody Mary fanfiction based off of the writing style of Andy Weir. Ryland Grace and Rocky have just started their journey to Erid when they come across an unknown flying object. A realistic look on how this would play out, with slower pacing and logical thinking. (hopefully) doesn't contain any scientific inaccuracies. (I'm really doing my research over here)

Observation: Grace is soft, has weak bones, and lacks basic self-preservation instincts. Space is dark, cold, and full of extreme dangers. When the Hail Mary detects an impossible moon bleeding radioactive sludge into the void, Grace naturally decides to jump straight into it. What we haul out of the depths isn't just an anomaly-it's a broken, leaky, mutated mammal trapped in a crushing metal canister. An accounting of how an Eridian engineer kept two suicidal humans alive, repaired their broken biology, and ended up with a very strange, very domestic life on Erid.

Simon is found in the tree that somehow ended up on Erid. Grace and Rocky notice Simon mutations and decide to try to fix the mutations the best they can while Simon tries to heal from the trauma in the blood ocean.

Simon and Grace met in a coffee shop. They get along well, exchange numbers and became friends. But after a while, something began to change. Simon felt a deep connection with him. No one ever gave him the kindness. He never thought he deserved it. Or did he?

He felt himself growing uncomfortable at the idea of him even sharing a dome with it. How should he be expected to? What if it was dangerous? What if the being was more animalistic and violent? What if it was sick? What if it got him sick? How will it react to a new planet? Can he really be trusted to take care of this thing? What if he doesn't know how because it's not human? Grace woke up with a gasp, eyes flying open as he gripped the sheets tightly. He was drenched in cold sweat. His hair stuck to his forehead, and his shirt had an obvious wet spot. His heart was beating ferociously and his chest heaved with every breath he was greedily taking. And he could never take a satisfying breath, as a tight squeeze in his chest prevented him from doing so. He had a nightmare.

A radio transmission comes alive in the Hail Mary. Cursewords that are being broadcasted from the moon orbiting Adrian. Intrigued by the unexpected call, Grace and Rocky, descende into a nightmare they never could have calculated: here the Astrophage has mutated, liquefying the entire moon into an ocean of living blood. When the duo plunge into the deep to answer the call, they pull out two survivors, two convicts.

While there Ryland is assigned to a samurai named Simon, a man kidnapped and essentially enslaved from his home in Korea, as his own personal bodyguard.
