(Part 2 to a story I wrote for keepthefaith92 )
Vancouver, Christmas 1985
(Christmas Eve)I woke up to sunlight shining through my window and the warmth coming from the radiator in the living room. I turned over to see a ball of hair next to me and smiled. Jon was sleeping soundly next to me, and I put my arm around him. I cuddled with him and went back to sleep for a while. I was hoping he would stay an extra day or so, since I had his Christmas gifts hidden in the closet.
Two hours later...
I woke up again and then Jon woke up a moment later. "Morning babygirl. Merry Christmas," said Jon. "Aww...merry Christmas to you too Jon," I said with a kiss on his cheek. I got up and looked out the window to see that the blizzard had stopped, but there was still a thick blanket of snow left behind. "Awesome. I can get your car fixed and ready, since it stopped snowing," I said. "Thanks, Cherry. You want to do it now, so it's done and frees up our day?" Jon asked. "Sure! Let's get dressed first," I replied. We get up and get dressed, then I go out to the driveway with my tools to fix Jon's car. Jon accompanied me and I performed a multi-point inspection on the vehicle. There was not much wrong; the engine needed some coolant in it, the emergency brake needed adjustment, the air conditioner was not warming the vehicle properly, and the air filter needed replacing. "Ok, good news. There's nothing too serious other than the emergency brake. Luckily, I have the tools for that and everything else. So I should be able to fix everything," I said. I gathered all the equipment from the garage and fixed the car; when I was finished, I tested it and made sure it worked properly. "Wow, you're amazing at this! Thanks so much Cherry," said Jon. I smiled and gave him a big kiss. "You're welcome. Now there is something I wanna ask you. Do you wanna stay another couple nights?" I said. "That would be great. I have to go grab my stuff though. You know I'm not staying very far away. So, I'll meet you back here later, ok?" said Jon. He got in his vehicle and left after we hugged and kissed.
Sometime later...
Jon pulled up in the driveway and parked. He got out and we hugged. "So, I've got my things, how about we go inside?" asked Jon. "Sure! It's chilly out here, so let's have a delicious breakfast," I replied. We went inside and had breakfast together. "Mmm you're a good cook. And a good decorator, I might add," said Jon. "Thanks honey. It takes some time to get things ready but that hard work pays off," I said. "I have some fresh cookies in a basket here too. I made them while you were gone. Christmas is probably my second favorite holiday, after Halloween," I said. I grabbed the gifts out of my closet, then put them under the tree. By the time I returned to the kitchen, Jon had put the dishes into the dishwasher. "Honey, you didn't have to do that," I said. "But I wanted to. You're my girlfriend, and I wanted to let you have a break," said Jon. I smiled and brought him to the living room. "Whoa! Presents! Ooh can I open them?" asked Jon. "No no. You can't open them until at least midnight," I replied. "Aw man...I don't wanna wait," he said. "But you'll have to wait, honey. Sorry," I said. "Just a moment, I've got gifts for you too Cherry," Jon said as he got up. He went to his car and returned with some presents. He put them under the tree next to his presents and gave me a kiss. I returned it and smiled. "How about we go play in the snow honey?" Jon asked. "Yes! I love snowy days. Let's get our snow gear on and go play," I said. We go put on our snow gear and go outside. We play in the snow for a while, having a snowball fight with each other and the neighbors, making snow angels, and even building snow-people.
Sometime later...
After our little adventure in the snow, we baked pie and brownies for a while. We also heated up the dishes I had made early yesterday. "Now we have some sweet stuff to eat for dessert. This other stuff I had made beforehand so that I wouldn't be spending all day cooking," I said. "That's pretty smart babe," said Jon. I nodded and took everything out of the oven. I set the table for dinner and noticed that the sun began to set. "Jon, can you go close the blinds and shades?" I asked. "Sure babe," he replied. I finished setting the table while Jon closed the blinds and shades on all the windows. We then sat down and enjoyed a delicious meal. "Wow, this food is amazing, honey," said Jon. "Indeed it is," I said. We talked for a while and then cleaned up after we finished eating. Then we spent the rest of the evening watching Christmas movies until bedtime...
