Friday Morning.
Jack sat down, drumming with his pencil at the back of the room, he had maths first of all things.
Fuck maths, honestly.
No one enjoys it unless they're weird. In Jack's words, unless they're a dickhead.
Dickhead was such a versatile word with the British youth.
It could mean anything depending on context, you can say it to your friends, to your enemies and people you don't even know. The teachers voice merely blurred in his mind, as he started to daydream.
He began to think about his future.
Would he even be alive in a few years? Would he even have the same friends, the same.. partner?
He stopped drumming, but continued daydreaming.
Would he still have Liu?
He would think about these things often.
Usually, he would listen to music to drown it out, but he was in class and it would be too hard to plug in his earphones and start listening as he didn't want to risk getting caught.
He eventually began to think about other things, like becoming rich as most teenage boys do. Although, he didn't know what he wanted to do with his career.
He still had time to think, next year was his last and then he's off to college.
His plan was to get a short job, like retail or something small to start off and give him some experience. He didn't even care what they were learning about for the most of it, it was algebra , he already understood it so it would be fine.
He thinks, anyway.
He wanted for the bell to ring for the next lesson, he jumped when the teacher said they could pack up, he had music next.
He had Liu in that lesson and thank God for that.
He walked down to the music classroom which was at the other side of the school. The other class was still packing away when he got there, he waited outside and eventually Liu came up to him."How was maths?" Liu asked.
Despite hearing it everyday, Liu's voice was still fresh to Jack, it was so hearing, everything about Liu was to him.
"Dead. I didn't do much, just sat there and thought about stuff." Jack replied, he sighed, he was so tired after the night before.
"Oh, fair. I mean, maths is usually dead anyway."
Liu paused.
"My brothers in our next lesson."Jack took a moment and a beautiful, bright idea sparked in his mind.
"Let's bunk."
Liu wasn't surprised, but he didn't expect to hear that at 10 in the morning.
"What?"
"Let's bunk." Jack repeated himself.
"What if we get caught? What if they call home?" Liu never really bunked before, never saw much reason for it.
"My mum won't care too much, she's in a whole different country right now and she's not bothered about what I do." Jack replied. His mother was in Ghana right now to visit family, Jack didn't like them much and he wanted to stay in school and take care of the house so he stayed.
"Still, please. Let's just go." Liu pleaded.
Jack nodded, eventually agreeing.
He took Liu's hand as they walked down to the music department, before they were met with a very interesting scene.Oh fuck.
There was a crowd.
That could only mean one thing.
There was a fight.
It wasn't a suprise that Jeff was there, getting verbal to a guy named Jonathan Blake, who was a goth in year 11, Jonathan was violent as is but what Jeff said to him just made it worse, Jeff was on about how Jonathan always looked greasy as shit and how he gets no bitches, how Jonathan's the reason his parents are divorced etc, ultimately a bad move for Jeff considering Jonathan was pretty muscular, he went to gym a lot and could lift about 100kg, which is extremely impressive for a boy of 16. Next thing you knew, Jonathan was banging Jeffery's head against a locker. Fun to watch for both Liu and Jack.
Jeff made an attempt to fight back, he wasn't weak, so he was able to get Jonathan against the glass before he was pushed down again, the fight went on for about 30 seconds before it was intervened by staff, however they looked afraid to get involved considering they knew how scary Jonathan's strength could be, but eventually they got them separated.
The two were taken into different SLT (student leadership team) rooms to talk about punishment.
Jack thought for a bit as the crowd dispersed. This probably meant he wouldn't be able to fight Jeff after school, not that he'd care. He'd win anyway. He led Liu away, near the other area with lockers where no one could really see them, he noticed his partner was breathing a lot heavier, so they sat down, Jack held Liu's hand, letting the other grip onto him.
"What's up?"
Liu breathed, looking up at his boyfriend. His thoughts raced.
"I don't know, I just panicked."
Liu had a tendency to freak out or panic whenever he watched people fight, especially physically. Probably since he used to watch his parents fight a lot, and then watching his brother fight with his parents, too.
"Do you wanna go to lesson or should we wait a bit?" Jack asked, still holding onto his boyfriend's hand.
Liu hesitated.
"...Let's wait five minutes."
Jack nodded and sat with his boyfriend for a bit.
