General Christoph

"Why must we go? Our weapons are better at patrolling the borders- The poachers could still be in the area" Commander Oz'ark shook his head, using a hard rock to sharpen his sword's blade to a perfect point. His scales possessed a more blue hue to them, a trait he inherited from his clan down by the rivers. A better camouflage for the waters.

"Precisely why we are best for taking the trip and coming back with the female intact" Commander Aspen countered, though he looked just as disappointed.

"Sir, Is it really necessary? could we not send lower ranked warriors to do the King's bidding?" Kal frowned, his dark black eyes watching the compound bustle with more and more terrans pack supplies and whatever they coveted from before we came.

"If we did- the terran would not be coming back- the scriptures she possesses could help create a permanent cure for those infected- five already are infected and being chained like rabid animals- it needs to end either in putting them down- or finding a way to cure them" I spoke using my blade to cut open a plant, Stormy had called it a watermelon. It was big in size- and although five were planted- only one of them was edible.

Inside was a red substance- soft and with black seeds. One's they coveted as well. They claimed these very seeds would be planted to create more on baracov.

I continued to cut slices, before putting them atop the table where Alice demanded they be displayed on small circular pathetic objects.

I spotted three heads peek over the side of the table, the three pairs of eyes were joined by a fourth.

"Is it ready yet?" The two identical children offered two big innocent smiles, their glowing sunny hair was identical. If the other hadn't had her hair cut due to the marshmallow monstrosity I wouldn't have been able to tell the two apart. Their matching noses and eyes scrunched trying to look above the table. Beside them was the boy, Ethan, and Addison. The New princess.

My chest warmed- It had been so long since I'd seen pups. It reminded me much of my own daughter. Their wide eyes that looked hopefully towards me for a small snack. I took a piece I cut from the green case of the fruit.

"Princess" I held it out for Addison to quickly snatch it and smother it in her mouth.

I handed another two to the two small girls, who both snatched them as well. Ethan was standoffish- he didn't ask- but I could see it in his gaze as he looked at the other girls.

"Do you want one?" I prompted which caused his round eyes to find mine.

Ethan lacked any type of confidence- he had merit as a soldier though.

I crouched low and held out the piece of fruit. "Take it" I nodded- and he looked around before approaching. He quickly snatched it before fleeing like a frightened fish.

"Thank you" He nodded meekly, a small smile on his face.

It made my stomach churn as to what made this boy so... shattered.

"Ethan- there you are, time for your classes" Alice's voice chirped as she approached the table, a wide smile on her face. The boy's face grew slack before he groaned.

"But Alice-" He tried to get out of his tutelage, and it brought a smile to my face as the boy looked around for a place to flee.

"No buts- time for your lessons" She shook her head, and as swift as a mother only could, she lifted the boy up into her arms. Settling him on her hip before turning away.

"And girls- your mother will come for you soon" Her call over her shoulder caused the remaining kids to scatter, including the princess herself.

"If papa can find me!" She called- her tongue in our language was better than most. She was learning faster the longer she spent time on the ship. Leonhart had completely moved her into the ship- in the royal wing.
