Chapter 7

"Who is that?" I ask Harper as I drink my soda on our ten minute break.

"He is new, he was working with Jax this morning, actually." She tells me as she is texting someone. "Are you ever gonna tell me why you were at Niall's this morning?"

"I didn't have a ride home from Allison's party." I bluntly say as I check out the new guy.

"What time do you get off tonight? Wanna sleepover at your house"She asks as I play with my straw.

"Uh, I think I get off at four. Yeah, you can come over." I tell her. I stand up and stuff my phone into my back pocket and through away my drink.

"Okay, well I get off at nine, so I will probably just come over afterwords if that is fine?" I nod my head and she gets up and leaves me.

I make my bed and pick up the clothes from my floor trying to pick up my room for when Harper comes over. I know she doesn't care if my room is dirty, but I do. I hear a knock on my door as I am throwing the dirty clothes in the hamper and in walks my mom.

"Honey, can we talk?" My mom asks as she sits down on my bed.

"Yeah?"

"Well, I think you need to sit too." She tells me and I have a feeling that I already know what she is going to tell me. I sit down at my desk and look at her while she picks at her fingers. Her rings are off and they look so naked.

"I am sure that you have heard your dad and I fight a lot, and we have decided that it is the best for both of us to split. A lot have happened lately, in both of our lives, and we just no longer have the connection that we had when we had first met." I don't cry or even upset. My dad cheated on my mom and the tears for this day have already been used.

"So, who is keeping the house?" I ask her as I stand up.

"I am. You dad is coming tomorrow to pick up all of his stuff. Tonight I plan on packing it all. He will be moving in with a friend of his for now he said." When she says friend, her face turns into a harsh look. I imagine this friend is the girl that he has been fucking.

"Okay, mom. I am not upset. I just want both of you to be happy. " I tell her. She gets up from my bed and kisses me on the check and leaves my room.

I grab my phone and type Niall's name while I write a message.

Me: Do you have any tea that I can have for $.

Niall: Yeah. Meet me at the kroger parking lot in ten.

I grab my purse from the bed and walk out of my room and down that stairs, out to my car. I don't tell my mom where I am going or she will ask questions.

It only takes about five minutes to get there and I have to wait for him to now arrive, which will take who knows long. He is always late no matter situation. I finally see his car pull in and he parks right next to mine.
