chapter 12 - the only exception

Rydel's POV:

Jesse called me as soon as he'd driven off down the road "I just wanted to check you hadn't given me a wrong number!" Aww he's so cute!! I researched his band! They're really good, I'm now part of the JKREW, I might speak to Riker and Ryland about them opening for our tour. We've been out a couple of times now and I reaaallyy like him, I hope my brothers don't kill him when he comes round for dinner tonight!! Oh my gosh he's here! Calm it Rydel, lipgloss check, tutu check, bracelets check, smile always! Good! okay, I'll go answer the do- "Hey, you must be Jesse?" Dang it mom got there first... Oh well... "That's me, and you must be the famous Stormie Lynch! Nice to meet you." Wow he's good with parents. "Hey Jesse!" Wow he looks amazing... He's so pretty I just wanna cry. Seriously. "Rydel! Wow, you look gorgeous." Eeeeekk!!!!! "Thank you, you do too..." That sounded weird "... I mean not gorgeous, well I mean not that your not gorgeous cos you are but.. Well that's not the right word." He laughs and takes my hand.. Oh my stars he's holding my hand!!!!!!!! Oh shit here comes Riker.. "Who's this?" Nooooo "Hey, I'm Jesse, Jesse Boyle." He looks at Jesse disapprovingly and then back at me. "Why are you in my house holding my baby sisters hand?" Jesse looks a little worried especially since Rocky, Ross and Ryland are fast approaching. "Emm, Rydel invited me over to meet you all, you must be Riker?" "Yeh, that's me. This is Rocky, Ross and Ryland." He points to each of them, "Oh and there's Ratliff, he's a bro too!" Jesse now seriously looks scared. He looks at me with a desperate look. "Guys back off, I invited him, he is my guest and you guys are supposed to make him feel welcome." They all look at eachother and take a step back. "Del, can I talk to you?" "Sure Riker!" Jesse grabs on to me, "don't leave me, they might kill me. I'm on my own, I'm easy to take on when there's five of them." I smile at him and kiss his cheek, he looks a little surprised (to be honest so am I, I didn't think I'd do that) but then he smiles back and looks deep into my eyes. "I won't let them kill you, you'll be fine! Stick to Ratliff and Kelly, they're pretty harmless! Oh and DO NOT talk to Zoé or Emily or Taylor swift when they get here! The guys will think your chatting up their girlfriends!" "Woah Taylor swift!!!! Who? What? How?" "I'll tell you later!" I go off to find Riker, "Del, when did you meet that guy?" Was it a week or two ago? Yeh I think so! I'll go with 2. "2 weeks ago, he's in one of my classes at Rage, he's 20 and he's in a band too. You guys will like him when you get to know him, I promise! Give him a chance..." He sighs deeply "we still have to be all over protective and shit..." Oh riker "love you too Riker!" I playfully push him and he pushes me back. I love my brothers. Mom calls us for dinner and everyone heads to the table, the girls had gotten back from shopping in town. Jesse, the sweetie that he is, pulled out my chair for me to sit on and then when he pulled one for himself Rocky raced to sit there. Poor Jesse they are being a little tough, he is forced to sit beside my Dad and opposite Riker, however he seems to be getting on well with my Dad, and Riker is even smiling and chatting. Hmm this is going well...

2 weeks later

Jared's POV:

So the weirdest thing happened just as I was walking down the street, this really pretty girl walked up to me and started to hold my hand, then she said "Hey Jesse, you ready for our date?" I was guessing she was some girl Jesse had a date with and mistook me for him, but he wasn't there and she was really really beautiful... I mean I felt obliged to do his job and take her out. As the date went on I just fell more and more for her... And here I am staring into her eyes about to kiss her.. Being a twin has its privileges.

Rydel's POV:

Jesse doesn't seem himself today but I'm about to kiss him for the first time and I'm so happy I couldn't care less. He's leaning in and our lips are just about to connect when I hear "HEY! GET OFF MY GIRL!!!!" I'm his girl... Omg! Wait? What? Who's shouting? I open my eyes to see Jesse tackling Jesse to the ground. What's going on? Oh shit I remember something about a twin now... I thought it didn't seem like Jesse! Hold on? That bastard pretended to be Jesse? Ergh! "STOP IT!!"

Jesse's POV:

He was going to kiss her! My Rydel, who's not really mine yet but still... Grrrrrr "Jared! What the hell?" "I was just filling in for you!" He says laughing.. That jerk!!! "Nobody can replace me, I'm the one and only!" I say punching him really hard in the arm, making it numb. "Owch! Sorry.. Okay. I'm very sorry Rydel. I won't pretend to be him any more!" He's still laughing! I'll get him later but for now... I grab Rydel by the waist and pull her over to me. I swing her so that I'm holding her like they do in the movies when they're dancing. I lean in and kiss her passionately, I've been waiting so long to do this. I feel like a fanboy (if that's a thing) dying of feels!! I love her.. Omg I love her....

Ratliff's POV:

So me and Kelly are just sitting flicking through the TV and don't tell the bride USA comes on... So Kelly says : "I could never let you pick my wedding dress!" Okay now let's fast forward a couple of hours, were not speaking anymore... Yeh pretty bad argument. It wasn't the fact that she didn't like my wedding dress taste, it was the fact she mentioned me and wedding in the same sentence... No. I'm not ready for that shit. So we've been together 6 years and I'm 21, I'm young and sure I love Kelly but ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! She was talking about babies the other day too! Hell to the no. I like things the way they are - or were until we had a massive argument and she threw a hairdryer at me. Good job I dodged it... But I think we kind of broke up...

Kelly's POV:

Ergh I can't believe him! I mention one thing to do with commitment and he cowers away and yells! That was just so insensitive and rude and I didn't even say anything about getting married!!! At all!!!! I don't want to be married! Not to him anyways now that he's done that!!! I'm so annoyed!!!

10 mins later

I miss Ell, I need a *Ratliff Kiss*, I wish I wasn't being dragged to this stupid party in Lauren's basement... We were halfway through spin the bottle and it was my turn when...

Ratliff's POV:

Okay so this might be stupid but I have to make her love me again. So here it goes. I burst into the room! "Kelly!" She stands up and comes over to me, "what?" Here comes my speech, " I'm so sorry that I reacted the way I did, I was a Jerk and I shouldn't of done that. I just liked things the way they were and I thought you wanted change but, I've been thinking and whatever you want, I want. So..." I kneel down on one knee and open the box... " Kelly Voosen it would make me the happiest guy on earth to make you the happiest girl, so will you marry me?"....
