Her words stung him.

Burned through his mind as he tried to wrap his head around it.

The fever of rage intensifies inside of him. Darkness taunted Kol. Chaos enticed him. His heart jolted as he stared at his wife.

"She's what?"

"Dying."

"I told you this would happen! I told you this wouldn't end well. No one ever listens to me. Bring her out now. For god sakes, pull her out now!" trembled Kol as he started realizing what it was that was happening to her.

"Kol, I wish I could."

"No. If she can bring back the Otherside then you can bring her out of this." pleaded Kol as his anger swayed through his words.

"She's not following my guidance anymore. If I pull her out now, she will die. If I pull her out before she gets the answers she needs, she could die. I can't. I wish I could save her."

The Blood King was clawing beneath the surface, begging to be free. A monster craving destruction. Once a monster, always a monster I suppose. This version of himself is the version history erased.

"Then send me into her memories. When did you send her back, Davina?"

"November 3rd, 997."

"Tell me you're kidding."

"Nope, she wrote down the date on the paper before we threw it into the flames. Why would that day be an issue?"

"I lost control. I almost killed her."

"Kol..."

His hands wrapped around my neck as he shoved me into the tree. The magic in me began to fade. This is what Ayana was warning me about. This darkness that consumes and controls Kol. It controlled him way before he became a vampire. Everything started to blur in and out of focus. Ears ringing. My throat is burning with every breath I take. Kol is killing me and there was no one there to save me. He sentenced me to death that day. I have died many times, but this experience always left a mark on me.

"Why? Why did you have to go and make me do this?" cried Kol as I scratched and clawed at his hands to relinquish me. His eyes were swollen and red. "We could have had it all! We were meant to be together! Always and Forever. How could you?" A tear escaped down the corner of my eyes. "If you're not with me, then you're against me." I tried. I begged. I gave it my all. I couldn't break free. He was too powerful and I wasn't the only one he was killing.

"Send me in." begged Kol as he took the atame and sliced his palm and let the blood paint the bowl. His eyes wet in guilt and grief. "Davina, I need you to send me in now."

"I-I-I I don't know if I have the strength to protect you both. Kol, I cannot lose you again."

"I am the reason she became a vampire. If I lose her... I don't know if I'll be able to turn my humanity back on. I love you Davina Claire. Always and Forever, but I can't lose her."

Hope swings the door open and sees Kol on his knees pleading to Davina. Niklaus watched from the doorway. Fear pained him. "I'll help." exclaims Hope as tears puddle in her eyes. "But I will need your help Auntie Freya and Auntie Davina."

"Save her, Kol." pleaded Niklaus as he fell to his knees looking at his brother. Kol nodded and Lizzie walked past him; joining Hope in the spell.

They chanted the spell together as they tried to send Kol into my memories; but something went wrong. My body jolted them backwards. I was trapped in my own living nightmare.

I managed to focus all my pain and anger into siphoning him of his magic. Do not mess with me. You're the Prince of Darkness. I'm the Queen of Chaos. The vines slithered down as they wrapped around him, yanking him back from me. Fire burned within me. A web of sobs escaped as I cried, "You have sentenced me to death! Do you have any clue what you have done...? The ancestors will have your head! We took a blood oath, Kol!" The words came out hoarse as they bleed from my lips. "I loved you! I loved you and your darkness! But you attacked me out of... out of ... out of anger! The rage consumes you! You don't get to take all of me!"

"You left me no choice, Mads."

"Forgive me for the ones I am about to do! Nothing you say will ease the pain!"

"Maddelena, I didn't mean to strangle you. I love you! Don't walk away! I still care about you. Darling, I'm sorry." And then the words danced off of my tongue. "You almost killed me and your unborn twins!" I spat as I left him in the darkness reeling from the secret I exposed. I scooped up my skirt and I ran up the path to Esther's hut. She opened the door as I collapsed in front of her. Bruising forming on my neck.

"Good heavens child. Were you chasing the wolves?" She rushes to my side when I whisper in her ear quickly, "I'm pregnant. He has sentenced me to death."

"We must act quickly. Dahlia will have a claim over the children. Who else knows?"

"Finn."

"There's no time to waste. Did my son hurt you, Maddelena?"

"We hurt each other. Can you help me?" I sobbed as pain washed over me.

She lays me on the bed as she starts looking through her grimoire and other spell books. The Gemini Coven book flipped open to a spell. Searching the shelves for roots, herbs, and spices. A witches apothecary will always tell you about the witch. And then she threw everything together in a bowl and mixed it. Something was bothering her.

"How many moons have you not bled, dear child?"

"A couple. Esther, what is wrong?"

She hands me the concoction that she created and I downed it. "A promise was made to my sister. Firstborn Mikaelson child goes to Dahlia. She's the reason I have children. A debt is owed. If she gets her hand on Gemini Twins...the world better pray she has mercy on them."

"So it is twins?" Her hand lays upon me and her tone changed immediately.

"Triplets...that's impossible."

"Come again...triplets. Siphoners run in our family. I don't want them to live in a world where I can't protect them. I'm not ready for this. Ayana warned me of my consequences if I were to choose poorly."

She mutters something in an ancient language before spilling my blood over an altar. My head began to feel woozy. "I made a promise to your mother...I'll do what I can to protect you, but I don't know if it'll work."

Blood drained down my face from my eyes. My heart slowed. Kol punched the wall over and over until the pain became numb. Niklaus hugged his sister and daughter as Davina fell to her knees, pleading to the ancestors. Sullivan hugged Lizzie as he watched me bleeding out. I get a say in death. I get to control my fate. My story isn't over. Kol's knuckles were bleeding. Finn and Lijah tried to pick him up from the floor before he sent them flying at the door. Kol scoops me up and walks me to my bed and lays me down. Beks scattered white rose petals around the room as Kol curled up next to me. It was always him. You're my always and forever, Kol. I'm still here.

"Don't leave me. I need you. You were always there for me. You gave me my life back. Do not leave me. Maddelena, you're my best friend. Darling, I fell in love with you over an et eple. You fell in love with me through darkness and chaos. No matter what, I will always be on your side. I need you. You're the Queen of Chaos and I need you. Life doesn't make sense without you. No one can ever replace a first love. Stay with me. Fight for us. Our children need us. I need you. Maddie, I need you. Don't leave me." bawled Kol as my heart stopped. "We have a love story that spans a millennium. Our story isn't over. Come back. Come back to me now."

I immediately shoot up in bed and stare back at helicopter family members.

"Luna, River, and Jasper." I sobbed with vengeance dancing in my eyes. My humanity was slowly becoming a thing of the past.
