Sonic was on his early morning run, as he ran through möbius he saw all the decorations up and ready for tonight.
Tonight was halloween before halloween used to be just a human holiday but after a while it started to get more popular like Christmas, thanksgiving, and easter but that explanation is for another time halloween is for all mobians and humans to walk around the streets dressed as whoever and whatever they want, and with so many people out and about there is usually trouble, you see..
On every holiday something bad is always bound to happen to our poor möbius hero, just last year some drunkies tried robbing a candy store because "there was no more candy in our neighborhood"
But really this year sonic swears it will be different and he wont let anything disturb his fun day out with his friends all he's asking for is no robbery's, no fight's, and definitely no Eggman as much as the hero likes playing cat and mouse with the doctor he'd prefer it not to be today. After sonic did a few patrols around the city he decided he stretched his legs out enough and head back to the home he and a certain two tailed fox shared, sonic walked in and greeted the young fox who was ironing his costume it was yellow with a thunderbolt shaped tail and two pointy yellow ears tipped with brown, you could probably already tell what it was just by that.
"Hey sonic, i saw you were out so i left you some breakfast in the microwave" tails said keeping his attention on ironing careful not to burn his costume "thanks little buddy" sonic said dashing to the kitchen gone in a blink of an eye pressing buttons on the microwave "so i heard that knuckles still wasn't coming?" Tails asked from the other room "yeah he said he had more important things to do" sonic said "even after i told him i could get someone else, i even suggested shadow to watch the master emerald he still didn't budge and its not like shadow has anything better to do anyway" sonic snickered at his last comment he liked making fun of the dark hedgehog especially since the other would make a big deal out of it resulting in their common races and battles
"Speaking of shadow i think he might be coming along too- well more like be dragged along" tails said as beeping echoed through the kitchen
Sonic opened the microwave and took out his heated up breakfast "rouge is also coming along?" Sonic assumed rouge would be the only reason shadow would do anything fun and somehow the bat always ended up getting him to dk what she wanted "yeah she convinced GUN to let her have a day off since its a holiday, sonic sat at the table and munched down on his food, once he was done he leaned back in the chair and mumbled to himself " this will be interesting" sonic said a smirk appearing on his tan muzzle

"Hey everybody" a flirtatious voice called in the loud room heads turning to greet the two who had entered the pink hedgehogs home rouge was dressed as a witch but obviously not the ugly types as said in story books since that wasn't her style sonic smirked wide as he stood from the couch walking over to the dark hedgehog who wasn't even wearing a costume "last one to show up and no costume tsk tsk" sonic said, shadow crossed his arms raising a brow "the costumes are idiotic especially yours, id rather dress as nothing then look like a pumpkin" shadow said "its a jack-o-lantern and only i can pull it off" sonic said confidently shadow rolling his eyes in response walking off to some corner to be unsocial like always, typical shadow.
But unlike shadow sonic went into the crowd talking to his friends checking out everyone's costumes like Amy she was in a black dress with white designs on it like at the ends of the dress instead of her boots she had black shoes with bows on the tip of the toes and a small black top hat resting on her head to complete the look "nice costume Ames" sonic complimented she really did look nice "aw thank you sonic" Amy blushed "i like your costume too" Amy said "thanks, Mr. grouchy said he'd rather not wear anything at all than dress as a pumpkin" sonic said glancing back at shadow who happened to look his way both locking eye contact for a few seconds sonic stuck his tongue out at him knowing full well that it was childish shadow scoffed and turned away
