As soon as I got back to my room I practically passed out from the exhaustion of the day and the time zone changes also added to the tiredness. The warm comforter hugged my body tightly as I lay still not wanting to have to wake up and face the cold of my hotel room. It felt like I was a teenager again having to be forced out of my bed to get ready for school, those were some of the worst days of my life, It's not that I didn't like learning because I did I just hated the environment of my high school.
I turned my head gently to the side feeling an ache in my neck as I extended my arm out to pull at my phone for it to unhook from the charger, successfully I managed to grab it bringing it closer to my face so my eyes could focus on the time on the screen. 10AM the bold white numbers read as the screen shone bright in contrast to my dark room, today was Saturday and in the world of formula 1 that means Quali day. I sent a few texts to the group chat as we all decided we would meet up after qualifying had finished as we all had different things to do today. On my agenda was to get to track meet my dad and hope qualifying goes well for Mercedes or else it would be a not so cheerful day.
Even after my long lie in I still had plenty of time to get ready as Bahrain was a night race which left me with 3 hours until I needed to head to track. So I spent the time getting ready extremely slowly as I carefully picked out an outfit and did my makeup. Lea decided we should go out for dinner tonight to celebrate how far we've come since college, so I also had to make sure my outfit was fit for that too.
The drive to track seemed slower than the Friday as now there was a lot more traffic. As I sat in the car with my dad I fiddled with the hem of my skirt as the two of us sang off key to Taylor Swift. Emery had decided she would make her own way to track with Daniel today, I'm glad they're spending time with each other because I know she's missed him. Arriving at track once again swarms of paparazzi crowded the paddock as we walked down the past each garage.
Qualifying was extremely stressful for everyone in the pits as Max took P1 in Q1,2 & 3. My dad was shouting out of pure anger that in the first race of the season we were missing out on points. A text pinged through on my phone causing me to look down, seeing it was a text from Lea saying she would be leaving the AlphaTauri garage in 20 minutes after she takes Pierre to do a few interviews for the press to which I replied saying I'll meet them all outside. Cold bit at my fingertips as I pulled the cuff of my Mercedes jacket down to cover my fingertips, slipping my phone back into my pocket as both Lewis and Valtteri who Qualified P2 and P3 came into the garage heading out towards the bullpen to do their press.
It wasn't long before the time passed and the four of us met up outside, each in a different team hoodie or jacket we laughed as we looked at each other. "Well" Lana laughed as it was unusual for us to be supporting different teams. "Quali's was a bit shit" Emery continued with a laugh as unpredictably Max Verstappen had completely out driven everyone today. "I think we deserve this dinner" I laughed as though we were the ones driving, we walked out of the paddock together getting into another SUV which was waiting. "My feet hurt" Azalea whined causing me to giggle as she rested her head on my shoulder, Alannah who was sat on the other side of her patted her knee indicating for the shorter brunette to put her feet up which she happily did. Emery was sat in the passengers seat scrolling through her phone before turning back to face us as the small screen displayed a paparazzi picture of the 4 of us in our different team jackets. "We actually look hot" She commented to us as we laughed agreeing pulling up to the restaurant.
Walking into the modernly decorated restaurant we were shown to our seats which were on the 20th floor of the tall building, we were seated by the large floor to celling windows with a complete view of the city.
"So" Emery began as she dragged out the 'o' "Lana I saw you having what looked to me like a very lust filled conversation with a certain Ferrari driver who's number is 55" Em winked as we all dramatically gasped whilst Lana was blushing. "No no no!" the blonde tried to justify "I was simply just doing my job" she countered. A round of 'sure' and 'if you say so' travelled around the table as we sipped on the wine which had just been brought out. After placing our orders Lea began to tell us about her day and everything that went on. "Wait" Lea cut herself off mid sentence as she looked over my shoulder "Oh erm guys I'm pretty sure Pierre, Charles, Lando and Max are sat there." collectively the remaining three of us replied in unison "What?" we said in a tone questioningly not really expecting to see them here. "Don't look now, but they're looking" Lea said as a smile made it's way to her lips. Of course none of us listened to her and we all looked back, there sat the four men looking rather good even though I hate to admit it. "Kinda hot" I mumbled as I sipped my wine looking out at the view. "Which one!" Emery excitedly poked my arm wanting an answer. I laughed at her reaction as once again every time I even remotely hint to having an interest in a guy all three of the girls get excited, but over that last few years I've been too busy making my own name to focus on a man. But now I suppose I do have a lot of free time. Thoughts ran through my mind but luckily our food came over saving me from the overthinking.
