Chapter 5 : Hot Topic

Mage History. Great. Yay. Wahoo.

I'm not even a witch. Why do I have to take this stupid class? Well. I'm assuming even those who aren't witches have to take this class, no matter their ethnicity.

I opened the door to a big room full of desks. I looked to my left and saw the guy that should be the teach. "Uhm, hi. I'm new. My name is-". "Yes yes. Arabelle. You may take your seat" The old guy said. I looked over to an empty seat in the back and walked towards it. While I was walking, I felt something trip me, and fell to the floor, but when I looked back to see how I tripped, there was nothing. I heard little chuckles throughout the classroom.

I sucked my teeth. "Miss. Arabelle, please try not to trip over air" I heard from the old guy. What an idiot. "Well can you please try to control your dumb students?" I muttered.

Wait...

God damn. Fuck super hearing. The whole class gasped. "Excuse me?" The old guy glared at me. "You heard her you old grump. It's not her fault Caleb can't quit being an asshole" I heard a familiar voice in the corner.

It was Tori! And the guy that was sitting to the side of me tripped me. "Tori, please. Don't make me send you to detention again. And you, sit down and stop making a fuss over a little nudge. Caleb, one more time and you'll be living in detention" the guy explained to us.

I rolled my eyes and went over to an empty seat, which was luckily next to Victoria. The old guy continued teaching and Tori leaned to me. "Glad you found your way" she smiled in relief. I smiled back. "Yeah, me too" I heard from behind me. I turned around and saw Harvey. He gave me a big grin and waved.

I flinched, because the doors suddenly bursted open. Luke and Zaida walked straight through it. "Mr. Chamber! We're so sorry for being late. Will you ever forgive us" Zay smiled. Luke smiled next to her. "No. Detention. Now sit" The old fart demanded.

Zaida came and sat in front of me, then she turned around and smiled. "You know Zaida?" Tori, Luke, and Harvey all asked. "Uhm. Y-yes" I said.

Turns out they all were good friends. I did feel a little out of place since I wasn't a witch and they were, but I got over it.

Thing is... I miss Vivianne.

But still, I feel more like I belong here than back over there. I didn't realize how I was feeling until Victoria came. I've always felt different, but I was sure other people felt the same way since no one looks alike. And I guess I did have conversations with Fanta all the time, not realizing that I actually understood her the whole time.

The door bursted open again. I flinched a second time, disappointed in myself when I did. "Sorry we're late teach. What can I say? I'm a very busy man" I heard. My eyes shot up. Laughter roamed the room. "Ronan and Malakai. Why is it always you two?" The old guy complained. Ronan grinned and took his seat, which was thankfully far away from mine.

I do wanna make that smirk of his die of torture, but I don't wanna die trying. I know Ronan is very strong, and he also has his brothers to defend him. Plus his freaky dad and prominent family. Sucks for me I guess. I don't even know my family. I don't my know my parents.

Luckily, Mr. Chamber didn't call on me for the rest of the class, meaning Ronan didn't notice I was here, at least I don't think he did. While everyone else was eyeballing me, he wasn't.

Creature Physical Education. And I already knew what that meant. That meant P.E. but way much more deadly.

Every pure creature from first period had that class. That meant about 60 pure creatures. Including Luke, Tori, Harvey, and Zay. But that also included Tori's brothers, Ronan, Malakai, Jai, and Kanei. We rounded up unto a large field surrounded by tall trees. "Alright y'all. We're
gonna play The King or Queen. I want this to be a fair game! There is only one rule! No killing! If you kill, you will be automatically disqualified. Understand Kanei?!" The lady snapped at Kanei. Kanei saluted to her with a smug. "You got it teach".
