CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Jasmine's pov

I felt soft lips on my neck. Knowing who the person I smiled, pushing him gently off me. "Let me sleep, Kook," I mumbled in a foggy voice.

Jungkook chuckled. His hand stroked my cheek, and his other hand held my waist. He lowered his head and nudged my side. "Wake up," he whispered in my ear. I slowly opened my eyes. His bright face caught my attention as soon as I woke up.

"Good morning, Mi Preciosa." Jungkook pecked my lips softly. A beautiful smile decorated his face. I smiled, wrapping my hands around his neck. Jungkook rested his hands on both sides of my body with comfort. "Did you sleep well?"

Jungkook's voice was filled with comfort and warm affection. I often wondered if a human could be an angel for real. And then, there was Jungkook. My angel. I locked my gaze on his brown orbs before nodding my head. "I slept well. Thank you."

Jungkook scrunched his nose at my response. "Formality, hmm." His hand returned to my face, cupping my jaw and stroking my cheek lovingly. His warm stare flipped my stomach. I'd get shy so easily around this man. He had that much power over me. But the beautiful pupils turned dark in a second. His eyes pierced into my soul.

"What happened?" I asked in a low voice. My hand went to his cheek, stroking it.

"Jasmine..." He rasped. "I'm glad you were strong last night and shared your dark past with me." His gaze lowered to avoid my eyes. "I know it was hard for you. And you might be ready yet, but—" He paused, taking a deep breath. His eyes met mine, and I could sense a fear behind them. "I want to give you the love you never had." A knot appeared in my throat. I stared at the man. "I am not kidding. I really truly want to give you love, affection, and other things you want. I want to show you what you mean to me; how much of a blessing you are, and I want to give the world to you. Please, Preciosa, give me a chance to prove myself. I am not that jerk. I won't ever hurt you. Please... Give me a chance to love you." He croaked; his eyes became moist.

My breath hitched. If I wasn't in love with Jungkook, he had to show me his vulnerable side too. Did I deserve it? Did I deserve the man? I parted my lips and closed them. I was not able to form the correct word. I was about to throw the question that fogged up my mind. But seeing the tears in his eyes, I couldn't control myself.

I pulled Jungkook by his neck, and kissed him. The kiss was slow and sensual, igniting all my feelings for him. Jungkook responded to the kiss hastily, moving his lips in sync. We pulled back after a few minutes, catching our breaths.

I looked up, meeting the brown eyes that had me fluttering. "I trust you, Jungkook," I mumbled softly against his lips. Jungkkok smiled, pecking my lips another time before pulling back completely. He hovered above me. I took a deep breath before speaking, "I don't know whether I deserve it,"—I pointed my finger between us—"But I want to give myself another chance. I want to be loved and love you, Jungkook. I don't know if I am ready yet—but I would like to be in an experimental relationship with you."

Jungkook arched a brow. "An experimental relationship?"

I nodded my head. Jungkook furrowed his brows as he sat up straight on the bed. I followed his every move, focusing on the veins on his hands popping up. Shaking my head off the attraction, I sat up as well. I leaned on the headboard and sighed.

"Jungkook, I want us to be real. But it's not possible considering the fact that you're married. I don't know what Aera did to you yet. Only the bits here and there, that you told me with ease. I want to know the whole thing first. I want you to be out of the horrible relationship; not for me, but for you. And being in a relationship now would be controversial. And I don't want Aera to torture you even more. So... Let's be in an experimental relationship."

Jungkook stayed quiet for so long—and that hitched my breath—in tension. He took everything and gave it a thought. And, after what felt like an eternity, he opened his mouth. "You are right." He nodded. "In order to live with you, I have to get rid of my past, from Aera." Another silence followed his words. "But what exactly do we do in an experimental relationship?"

The way his eyes sparkled in amusement—had me scream about how cute he was. But controlling the urge to scream like a teen who just met eyes with her crush in the corridor, I paused to think of a better way to explain it.

"In an experimental relationship, we'd be doing anything a real couple does. But, they have to be in secret, and within a limit." I stretched my arm to the n9ghtstand, taking out a notepad and a pen. I opened a page and started writing down.

"Rule No. 1: We wouldn't be doing PDA. No pet names in public, try not to be touchy, and don't make it obvious in the office." I told him the things I wrote on the paper. Jungkook listened to me eagerly.

"Rule No.2: During the time we spend together, we will only focus on each other. We won't be talking about the things that disturb us."

I pecked his lips out of the blue, taking him off guard. "What was that for?" He asked.

"Nothing." I shrugged a shoulder. You are looking so cute I can't resist my urge to shower you with kisses. I sighed and returned to the page. "Rule No. 3: We can have sex... There is no restriction."

Jungkook smirked. "My doll is getting bolder, huh?"

I smacked his head gently. He laughed and scooted close to me. "Okay. But I don't see a reason to call it experimental. We are doing the things a real couple does."

The knot returned to my stomach. I sighed, averting my gaze from him. "Don't get me wrong. I don't want to get hurt again." I glanced at him. "This my second and final chance in love. If it fails me, I will fail myself. And that will be the end of me."

Jungkook's face turned serious. He came closer to me and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my hands around his bare waist. Because you are still committed to another woman. The woman you've spent your youth with. It will be easy for you to leave me any day and run back to her. But I don't have a backup, nor do I need one. You are my one and only love. And if not you, I don't want to live either.
