Giovanni's POV -
There have been no updates about V in the past hour and of course my parents had arrived, making his situation even worse than it had already been before. I had been able to avoid their questions and had left them to keep themselves occupied whilst I took phone calls.

The men that where at her house had found nothing, her clothes where still all there as well as all the baby clothes indicating that she most likely didn't run away. But she wasn't stupid, and she must have known that I would have tracked both the car and her phone, hence why she left them in the apartment. But where would she have gone? Surly she wouldn't be stupid enough to travel all the way to Australia, especially not in her condition.

My office door swings open and in steps my father a stern look drawn across his face, and his forehead is covered in age wrinkles. He sits down in the chair in front of me, lighting a cigarette as I do the same leaning back in my chair. "So where is she?" My father asks his eyes glaring deep into my own as I roll my sleeves up exposing my tattooed arms.

"She is out with friends she will return home later." I bullshit as my father continues glaring at me, I can sense the anger beginning to grow as he leans forward.

"Don't bullshit me, Giovanni. Do I look stupid to you?" He spits as his face begins to glow red and his stubs out his cigarette angrily. "How long as she been missing?"

"A few hours." I admit as he stands up from his chair and leans across the desk to be closer to me.

"How do you even call yourself a Mafia leader? You manged to knock up a dirty whore and now she is missing, what impression does this set to others? Makes us look fucking stupid Giovanni, sort it out before I have to." He stormed out of the office, as I chucked the fag into the ashtray and ran a stressed hand throughout my hair. My father may have retired from the Mafia, but he is still a cold hard killer and I know that he will not hesitate twice before shooting her dead.

Fuck I really need to find her.

V's POV

I had manged to get into yet another taxi, which was taking me an hour away to the house, as we drive past all the small villages and towns it made my heart tinge slightly as I thought of the village that Giovanni owns and all those that live there. I had made some good friends over the short period, and I would miss the walks through the fields and interacting with others. I would even miss the house...

I watched the drivers map and realised that we were only minutes away from the house where I would be staying for a while. There was nothing around, only large empty fields, we had passed a set of houses around ten minutes ago that all looked empty, as there were no cars littering the driveway and all the lights where off. The fields had cattle grazing on the grass and I wondered if those would be the ones that I would be caring for. My cousin had left me information on the side ready for my arrival so I would be able to understand how to care for the animals better, however part of me was scared as I have never even stepped foot in a farm before, and now I am expected to care for them.

The house came into view, and an infectious smile spread across my face, it was more than perfect, it was as though I was in a dream, and I wanted to pinch myself to make sure that I was not dreaming. The house was cream with vines that grew up each side, the porch had chairs and more plants that littered the floor, and the door was a green colour that matched the vines growing. I paid the taxi driver thanking him before climbing out and heading to the front door.

My cousin had left a key under the door mat, and I used the shiny silver key to let myself in. My breath was taken away once again as I starred around the entrance of the home, the house was decorated exactly to my taste, and it was so inviting it made me want to live here forever. I searched each and every room taking in the beauty of it all before heading to the kitchen to read the note that he had left for me.

V,

I have left food in the fridge please help yourself as it will all go out of date by the time we return, you are welcome to choose which room you wish. The bins go out every Thursday and the code for the back gate is 7713. The only things we need you to do is feed the chickens each morning and night and collect any eggs they have laid. The horses are in a barn a few miles away, you can go a visit them if you wish, however there is someone caring for them. All the plants need watering daily even the indoor ones to ensure they do not die.

We should return soon, many thanks again Dave.

I was shocked that they did not have more animals, however I was grateful as I did not trust myself to care for them. The chickens where not an issue, if I needed, I would just watch a YouTube video or call my cousins with any concerns, however I am not looking forward to waking up to their rather loud noises.

I searched the fridge for any food, before settling on a ready meal for dinner, the journey has tired me out, and I wanted an early night as I had a large list of things to do tomorrow. I loaded up my cousin computer before searching up cheap cars nearby, I do not have a large amount of money, Giovanni had given me enough that it would keep me going for a year, but I would need to get a job sooner rather than later. I spent most the night looking at all the cars before finding a very old, but still running red Nissan Micra. I of course sent the guy a message straight away needing the car as soon as possible so that I can commute to the local shops and villages.

They guy did not take long messaging me back and we arranged to meet in the morning so that I could drive the car before buying it. I didn't care what it looked like I just need the car to be able to get me around, especially when baby is born.

My plans for the future are to stay In Dublin, and find myself a little part time job, working at a cafe or something after baby is born. I can't risk working as a nurse, that will be the first place Giovanni searches, as he knows how passionate I am about caring for others. I honestly missed the nurses in my own hospital and wondered if they missed me, when I return, I will try and meet up with them if it is safe enough.
