Forget it

His eyes. They told millions of stories. You felt like laying down again and look into his eyes for many hours. But you felt shame around him. If anyone would see you getting intimate with him, you would forever be despised by your classmates.

The day felt boring, but finally, during last lesson, things started to get more interesting.
The teacher talked about geography, your favorite subject, as he wrote the continents on the board.

"We will start a new project. Starting today."

"You all will together with someone pick one continent to learn about, and then later talk about it to the rest of the class" he continues with a serious tone."

Ruby raises her hand.

"Yes, Gillis?" The teacher says. He sounds irritated.

"Will we get to choose our own partner?" She asks, and smiles as she looks over to Gilbert.

"No. I will put you into pairs." He says.

Ruby's smile fades quickly. You feel bad for her, she really wanted to be Gilbert's partner for this project.

The teacher starts pairing people into groups as he walks around the classroom from desk to desk.

"Anne with Diana."

"Moody with Josie"

"Cole with Ruby"

"Gilbert with y/n"

The teacher's voice goes silent as you freeze. You realize you will have to spend hours studying with Gilbert Blythe. You hesitantly look over to Ruby, who's giving you an angry and furious face.

"I'm sorry!" You whisper to Ruby, hoping for her to read your lips. She rolls her eyes at you and looks away.

"Sorry for what?" you hear Gilbert say.
He frowns. He is playing with his pen in his hand.
"Uh, nothing. Why are you listening anyway?"

"I'm sitting behind you. It's not like I'm deaf." He says.

"Unfortunately not." You mumble, and sigh.

"Hey, be happy you didn't have to work with Billy"

"Billy?" you ask.

"He is real mean. Stay away from him." He says and points at a tall and big guy with dirty blonde hair sitting across the classroom throwing things at Moody.

"What continent do we choose?"  you ask Gilbert.

"Europe." He replies.

"No, let's do something else" you beg.

"We will work with Europe. Your house, at 6." He says with a serious tone.

"Fine. No funny business." you say.

He smirks and his eyes narrow.

All students and Mr.Philips leaves the classroom leaving only you and Gilbert left.
To be honest it's quite awkward.

"So... about yesterday." Gilbert says.

"Gilbert. Please let's not talk about it. Forget it ever happened" you say.

"Why would I do that?" he asks and frowns.

"If someone ever finds out we kissed, I will never have a future in this class."

"You are being ridiculous y/n. It's not that big of a deal!" he says. He looks angry.

"It is. Forget it, please." You say.

He shakes his head and clenches his jaw as he leaves the school.

'What do I do?' you think to yourself.
