Namjoon slept peacefully into the late hours of the morning. He stirred in his sleep when he rolled over and a little bit of light peaked over his face through a small opening of his dark indigo curtains. The warm light washed over his face waking him from his unconscious state, blinking his eyes open as the fog from his dreams dissipates into reality. He sluggishly reached over to grab his phone to check the time and noticed he had received a text from Jimin from an hour ago. He unlocked his phone, the text popped up on screen and it read.
1 message from: Mini
"Hey, Joon. I got a call from the bakery, and they needed me to come into finalize a few things before next week. Didn't want to wake you so I called a taxi and left the car with you. I'll let you know when I head back home."
"What the hell, Min." I groaned sitting up in bed before reluctantly peeling the sheets off of my body and getting up. "I could have taken you."
I walked into the bathroom, taking a quick shower. Once I was done, I brushed my teeth and got dressed. I then went ahead and texted Jimin back.
'Okay well let me know when you're ready to come home and I'll come get you.'
A few minutes pass, I hear my phone go off and I opened it to reveal Jimin's response.
'Don't worry about me. I can find my way back.' He replied.
'No Min, I want to come get you so please just let me.'
'Alright.. I should be done in 20 minutes.'
'Okay are you super busy at the moment?' I replied.
'No, just finishing up signing some stuff. Why?'
When I finished reading his last message, clicked on his contact and tapped the call button as I made my way out of the house to the car, the phone rang twice before he answered.
" Hey." he answered softly.
"Hey, Min. I'll be heading out in just a minute. Would you wanna grab some food while we're out.
He paused before answering. "Sure, I do have a slight hangover from last night."
"You probably just need to eat something. I'll think of a few places on the way."
"Okay, sounds good. Well, I gotta go. I still have a few things to do." He stated.
"That's fine. I'll send you a text when I get there."
"Okay, drive safe." He said before hanging up.
Namjoon set his phone down and pulled out of his driveway and headed into town. He rolls down the window to enjoy the light breeze. The soft sun was out, peaking through the trees and houses as he passed by. It was a nice morning.
On the way there, Namjoon found himself thinking about the previous night for the first time. Namjoon remembered drinking a decent amount but not enough to keep the memories at bay for long. He purposely didn't drink too much so he would remember if anything did happen between the two of them. He drank just enough to give him a buzz. Everything was slowly coming back to him. For a brief moment, the image of a smiley rosy cheeked Jimin had flashed across his mind hearing the echo of the tipsy boy's giggle and he felt a rush of an emotion, that had his heartbeat picking up and found himself smiling, involuntarily snagging his thicker bottom lip with his teeth.
Namjoon was approaching a traffic light. Few cars in front and behind him when stopped, waiting for it to turn green, watching as the cars from different sides take their turns driving through the light, when the glimpse of Jimin moaning accompanied by familiar sensation of the boy grinding down on his crotch, Jimin's hands laces in his hair, tugging at his scalp, kissing him so eagerly, broke through his subconscious out of nowhere causing his mind to go a little fuzzy for a brief moment before the sound of a blaring horn shook him from his thoughts. He pressed against the gas; pulled forward through the green light. Checking his rear-view mirror for any traffic and continuing down the street.
I stared at the road ahead, taking soft breaths in as more started to come back.
So I may have been a little more drunk than I led Jimin to believe. I've just always been fine at controlling myself even under the influence. But with Jimin I chose to take a risk. If he had shown any signs of uncomfortably at all I wouldn't have gone through with any of it.. Still couldn't remember how things ended though and that was starting to worry me..
After making a few turns within the next few miles, I was slowing down and turning into the parking lot of the bakery.
I pulled into a parking space, across from the building's entrance. I reached into my pocket, pulling out my phone, unlocking it and clicking on Jimin's contact to call him. After a few rings of the dial, Jimin picked up.
"Hey," Jimin answered
"Hey, I just parked. I'm right outside so I'll be here when you're done.""Alright, I'm almost done I should be out in 10 minutes at the most." Jimin responded.
"No rush, I'm not going anywhere." Namjoon smiled over the phone."Okay, see you in a bit." Jimin said before hanging up.
———Namjoon slipped his phone back in his pocket and proceeded to unbuckle himself. He climbed out of the car, wanting to see him when he comes out.
He rounded his car, leaning back against the tail end of his vehicle. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking towards the door. He began to feel a little uncomfortable, so he adjusted himself by slipping his hands into his pockets and propping up his leg but then felt weird about that too, so he put his leg back down. He stared ahead at his reflection. He wore denim jeans, white v neck with a long black coat and white sneakers. Trying to decide whether or not Jimin will think he looks nice..
He was fidgety and couldn't remain still waiting for Jimin to come outside. After waiting a little while, Namjoon stood there genuinely enjoying the breezy weather and trying his best to calm his nerves, a chime rang in the air calling Namjoon's attention in the direction of the sound. He softly smiled as he watched Jimin exit the building slightly jogging his way over.
The sun shined bright over the boy's face. Jimin brought up his hand to shield the sunlight from his eyes as he approached his older friend. The sun was soft and warm. It made the soft brown in Jimin's hair golden along with the slight bounce of his relaxed ears against the top of the shorter boys head. Namjoon's heart swelled watching his handsome friend make his way over, trying to subpress the emotion he was feeling inside.
"Hey, sorry for making you wait." Jimin said exhaling a little bit from his quick jog.
"I didn't wait that long at all. So how is everything?" Namjoon face softened talking to his friend.
'Oh' Jimin quickly peaks back. "everything's in order. I'll be start next week." Jimin answered.
"That's good," Namjoon checks his watch for the time. "It just after 12pm. Anything in particular you want to eat? Namjoon asked.
He stood there for a moment thinking. "Hmm, what would be good right now?" Jimin asked.
"I could go for some ramen or even korean bbq. I saw a place just around the corner."
His face lite up at little bit before saying "yeah that does really sound good. I'm pretty hungry," he peaked down at his hands. "After last night."
The end of his sentence caught me off guard, but I quickly gave him a reassuring smile, patting his arm. "You got it." I walked over to Jimin's side of the car, opening his door for him.
Thanks." Jimin answered softly, slipping inside.
I could feel the little butterflies tickle in my stomach as I made my way back around the car. Opening the door and settling behind the wheel, into my seat.
