Kady stared ahead at the sunset. She had climbed up onto the roof of Alikai's house. It had been a good three months since the issues revolving around Scar and Farter had taken place. Alikai was doing just fine, although she had sewn her eyelids closed out of hatred of seeing the empty socket beneath.
Kady had been trying to find someone that could make Alikai a prosthetic hand, but she hadn't made much progress. She didn't know what she would do to get the limb either. She had no money and couldn't afford to spend what she had on anything. She had decided to move in with Alikai to help take care of her pets and stuff, and even sold the house in Jourl to do so.
She took in the beauty of the sunset she was able to see clearly. She hoped Alikai was doing fine. She hadn't had any nightmares since Kady took care of Farter. She tugged on her hair, pushing her bangs behind her ear and taking a smaller mirror shard out of her bag. She stared at her reflection in the shard, holding her hand over the right side of her face.
She looked so tired and her eye was beginning to dull. Not to mention how much weight she had lost. She hardly slept out of worry for Alikai's health. She was scared Alikai would have another nightmare or end up with an injury again. She put the shard away and began to climb down from the roof, careful not to step on any of the flowers on the ground.
She turned away from Alikai's home and began walking into the forest.
