Swords & Scars Original Concept

Chapter 4

"Is Kady back?" Edward asked Alphonse. "Not yet." Alphonse replied, looking sad. Alikai overheard them and walked outside. "I feel bad for Rea... I-I mean Alikai." Edward said nothing. He just stared at where Alikai was before.

Alikai had taken Rain out for a ride. She was now sitting on the ground though. Rain had bucked her off at the edge of the forest and ran off. Alikai stood up quietly. "It's so good to see you again." An eerie but familiar voice said from behind her. Alikai turned around, now up on her feet, and saw Farter standing there. "What do you want?!" "Scar sent me to finish you." Alikai blinked in disbelief. Why can't this all just be over? "You are weak now, definitely weaker than Scar and I." Farter said with a sinister voice. Alikai pulled out her pipe and prepared to use her magic. "I can take anything you do..." Farter unsheathed a newer looking sword. "Is that all you have?" Alikai teased. Farter ran at her quickly, cutting her left hand off swiftly. Alikai let out a loud scream, shocked. Her disassembled hand faded to black rose petals, blowing away in the wind. Alikai kneeled on the ground, wincing in pain. Farter pushed her down, moving her hair out of her face to reveal both of the eyes. One was red and the other a beautiful golden-brown, like her mother's. He stared at it before sticking his fingers into Alikai's socket and grabbing it, twisting and pulling at her eye until it popped out. Alikai writhed and screamed in pain, weak and defenseless. Farter got up and began to walk away from her, hoping she'd bleed out. He didn't get far before Kady came out of the woods and swung her sword at him, cutting clean through his throat, decapitating him. Farter's limp body fell to the ground as Kady sheathed her sword and turned to Rea. "How badly did he hurt you?!" She asked, rushing over to her. Rea couldn't answer. Her breathing had slowed and she was struggling to focus as her arm bled out. "E-Ed..." Alikai murmured softly, wanting him to be by her at that exact moment. All she saw was a faint outline of Kady before she blacked out.

"Alikai!" A faint voice called. "Alikai!" Is it over? Alikai wondered. "ALIKAI!" The voice yelled. "Not again..." Alikai opened her eye to see Edward with tears in his eyes. Alikai tried to sit up, but failed. "You're okay!" Edward shouted, hugging Alikai tightly. Alikai nodded. "Yeah... I'm okay."
