Danger Zone (Venturiantale Fanfic)

Chapter 4-Engaged

   The house seemed to explode with noise at exactly six in the morning. The TV was turned on, the sound of a football game blaring through the house at full volume, Sally argued loudly with Mario and Luigi over waffles and spaghetti, and Freddy roared at a chicken that had made it's way into the backyard.

Billy groaned, a migraine pounding his head as he shuffled down the stairs and into the kitchen. Mama Gertrude sat at the dining room table, stuffing her face with Lucky Charms marshmallows and filling out bills. (if that's what you do with bills, I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject :p)

"You okay hun?" Gertrude asked as Billy sat across from her, laying his forehead on the cool table top and whining under his breath, "My head hurts mama..."

"Well, the Johnny's are gonna be here shortly to take care of the Mario brothers, and I'll make Papa turn the volume down, okay hun?" Gertrude suggested, and Billy smiled. "Thank you mama."

The sound of the doorbell was very nearly drowned out by Papa's football game, but Gertrude managed to hear them. "Coming!" She called, apologizing when Billy winced.

The front door was opened and two men were let inside, one of them being Johnny Ghost from the McDonald's the day before. The other was a tall charming man with raven black hair and crystal blue eyes, his groomed facial hair on his chin making him look almost noble.

"Thank you for arriving on such short notice boys, it means a lot." Gertrude thanked, smiling sweetly. The tall charming man, Johnny Toast, smiled an award winning smile right back at her.

"Happy to help ma'am." Toast said with a classy British accent.

"Where are they at?" Ghost asked, but was quickly answered by Sally shouting angrily at Mario that waffles were superior to spaghetti. "Oh, nevermind."

"You look a lot younger ma'am." Toast said to Gertrude, noticing her lack of aging wrinkles and smooth complexion. Gertrude chuckled, "Oh stop it, you don't mean that."

"Well he's right, you look like you're in your mid twenties." Ghost insisted.

"It's the waffle pendent necklace I gave her, it makes you look younger." Sally chimed in, her little girl speech vanished. Sally now appeared to be eighteen years old, rather than seven, like how she usually was.

"It works better if you worship the waffle goddess, but it still works pretty well otherwise." Sally informed, and Gertrude smiled.

"I forgot I was wearing it, would you like it back hun?" Gertrude asked, and Sally nodded. Few seconds later, Ghost and Toast were going after the Mario brothers and Sally was skipping around as a seven year old again.

Gertrude walked into Papa's 'secret' living room and turned the volume down, catching her reflection in the glass TV stand. "So much for looking twenty something." She sighed with a smile.

Papa Acachalla motioned for Gertrude to sit next to him, and he kissed her on the cheek. "I still think you look beautiful." Gertrud smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.

Toast battled Mario in the main living room to get rid of the two brothers. It was a heated and deadly battle of Mario kart, if Toast won, the spirits left the house, if Mario won, the ghost hunters would leave the house and never return.

Luckily Toast was the better racer. Mario growled under his breath and floated away with Luigi, while Ghost cheered and wrapped Toast in a bear hug, planting a kiss on his lips.

Sally peeked around the corner, her cheeks pink "Those two are my otp for life." She thought in her head, holding in a fangirl squeal.

"Sally, what are you doing?" Came a lisping voice from behind her, and sally flinched in surprise. "N-noffing, I wasn't doing anyffing, why do you ask?" Sally blubbered, her face hot.

"Are they kissing again?" Spencer asked, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.

"Are who kissing again?" Toast asked, walking around the corner while hand in hand with Ghost. Both sibling screamed in surprise, the Johnny's sudden appearance scaring the sprinkles out of them.

"No one!" Spencer and Sally shouted in unison, sprinting off together. Toast raised an eyebrow, but quickly shook it off. Gertrude walked out of Papa's 'secret' TV room to pay the Johnny's, when she noticed a ring on Toast's finger.

"Oh my gosh," Gertrude gasped, holding up Toast's hand to inspect it, "Are you two getting married!?" Toast smiled.

"Yes, we are." He said, wrapping an arm around Ghost's shoulder. Gertrude laughed and gripped the two men in a hug.

"I'm so happy for you! When's the wedding?" Gertrude asked excitedly. "Two months." Ghost said, holding up the same amount of fingers. Gertrude beamed, and hugged the two men again.

"Awre we going mama?" Sally asked from the stairs, Spencer at her side. "Well, we were planning on inviting you." Ghost said, and Sally squealed. "Yay!"
