Rumours about the final triwizard task had begun to circulate around the school and after Harry's last performance, many bets were being placed already. It was still almost three months away, but people were so excited to see who would become the new triwizard champion. Milena had faith that it would be Harry who would come out on top considering his track record since he started at Hogwarts.
Not only were people whispering about the triwizard tournament, but many people were getting ready for the next Hogsmeade trip that was coming. While Milena always looked forward to getting to hang out with her friends somewhere other than school, she was even more excited than usual because this year it happened to fall right on her birthday. Her birthday fell pretty close to the twins, hers being just at the end of March on the 25th and theirs being on April 1st which she found fitting. They were exactly one week apart and she always said it must've meant she was always supposed to be friends with Fred and George. George always said she was the missing piece to their trio that they never knew they needed.
Angelina had already said she would be treating Milena to a "surprise" when they got to Hogsmeade, but refused to tell her what it would be. Anytime she would mention it, it was like she was bursting at the seams just to tell Milena what she was doing, but somehow she managed to keep it in. When the day arrived, Milena dressed in a sweater and her winter jacket, but chose not to wear her hat and scarf since it was still cold, but the sun was starting to shine more.
"So..." Milena started as she left the common room with Angelina.
"So..." Angelina replied with a grin.
"Do I get to know what you're surprising me with yet?" Milena asked.
"Nope," Angelina smiled. "You have to wait until we get to Hogsmeade." Angelina linked her arm with Milena's as they left the castle to the carriages that would take them down to the little village.
"This better be the best surprise ever with how much you've talked," Milena laughed.
The two climbed into a carriage where Alicia and Katie were already waiting, chatting quietly about something Milena couldn't hear.
"Hello ladies! Happy birthday, Milly!" Alicia cheered, hugging Milena.
"Happy birthday, Mills!" Katie followed. "Ready for Hogsmeade?"
"As ready as I always am." Milena smiled.
The carriage began to move as it pulled them away from the castle and down the winding path towards Hogsmeade. It felt as though it was taking forever to arrive at the village, longer than it normally took and when they finally arrived, Milena was practically jumping from her seat to get outside.
"Okay, we're in Hogsmeade," She said, turning to Angelina who was still climbing out of the carriage. "What's the surprise?"
"Hold your horses, Mills," Angelina laughed, stepping down from the carriage.
Milena felt like she was bouncing off walls at this point, she didn't think she'd be this excited for a birthday surprise, but Angelina had talked it up so much, it was all that was on her mind.
"Wait... where are the boys?" Milena finally asked, realizing she had never seen them leave the castle.
Angelina just smiled at her, linking her arm with Milena's again and walking her into town, Alicia and Katie close behind. Every shop they passed, Milena would quickly glance into, wondering if she'd be able to see anything Angelina may have ready for her. The two stopped at the window of Zonko's and looked inside to see who was around. They decided to go in for a few minutes and take a quick look around. She didn't see any of the boys in the shop she was sure they'd be in and realized she didn't see any students she knew in the shop that was so popular. Milena figured she'd get birthday presents for the twins while she was there and soon they were on their way out again. Milena took a quick look around and noticed that Alicia and Katie were both missing now too. When she pointed this out, Angelina just laughed and said, "Good, that means it's time! Come on!"
