MY ANSWERED PRAYER

CHAPTER 19: OVERSTEPPING

After the awfully silent car ride, Nandini dropped Manik and Cabir home. Before she could drive away, Cabir knocked on the window of her car. Nandini lowered the glass to looked at him.

Cabir: Woh.....
Woh.....

Manik: He wanted to ask some details regarding the music video but I think it can be done later.
He waved bye to Nandini and pulled Cabir.

Nandini drove away.

Manik: What were you doing there?

Cabir: I'm sorry. I just wanted to say so many things but I didn't have the words.
It's difficult to not talk to her or ignore her after knowing the truth. I know she has done wrong with us in the past but today's truth is that she saved my life and went out with her culprit for my sake. I can't help but see my Nandu who was my sister.

Manik: I know, Cabir. I understand. But we have to find out the truth. Let's keep our behaviour in check till then. Please.

Two days later
Reyansh's house
Dining area

It was around 10pm and Fab 5 and Reyansh were having dinner. They were talking about random stuff. It wouldn't be wrong to say that Reyansh had made his place in each of their hearts. Staying under one roof really got them closer. Moreover Reyansh is a very likeable person.
So they were talking and laughing over dinner when suddenly Nandini walked in. She walked straight upto Reyansh and before he or anybody could say a thing, she took the jug full of water and splashed it on Reyansh.
Reyansh and others were trying to absorb what just happened when Nandini started walking away.

Reyansh: Nandini, stop.
Stop please.
I'm sorry.

Nandini (without turning back): You should be.

Reyansh runs behind her and holds her hand. Meanwhile Fab 5 also follow him. He turns her and speaks

Reyansh: Sorry. I just had your best interest in mind.

Nandini: Care to explain.

Reyansh: I'm worried. You are a nice person, have a stable career. Everything is on track. It's high time you find somebody for yourself.

Nandini: So you decided to lie to me. I was told that I have to meet a client to discuss a deal over dinner. Little did I know that it was a date and not a meeting. I had an entirely presentation prepared. I wish I had words to explain how awkward it got. It was so embarassing.

Reyansh: But you don't hate the guy, right?

Nandini: You got to be kidding me.
That guy's chapter is closed.

Reyansh: What... but why? He is good looking, doing well professionally and I checked his background. Clean.

Nandini: Acha.... toh date pe kyu bheja. Seedha shaddi hi kar dete aj.

Nandini walked away. Reyansh looked at Fab 5 and recieved a sympathetic glare from them. Reyansh followed her.

Later that night
Pool area

Reyansh was chilling by the pool when he saw Manik walking towards him.

Reyansh: You here at this hour?

Manik: I had an important meeting and the network wasn't great in my room. Was heading back when I saw you so thought of saying hi.

He sat beside Reyansh. They were sitting quietly but Reyansh felt uneasy so he decided to just talk about what had happened.

Reyansh: Please don't judge me. I was just trying to help. This woman does not have a love life. I just wanted her to be happy. She is my best friend.

Manik: Your intention was good but I don't think it's cool to interfere.
