The hustle and bustle of platform 9 3/4 never bothered Lillian. Though sometimes she felt a bit sad that she never had parents to say farewell to her as most other children did. Her brothers couldn't come as they were already off to Beauxbatons  for their fifth and sixth years. Her grandmothers were already at Hogwarts awaiting her arrival. She quickly swerved to narrowly avoid Percy Weasley coming through from the wall leading into the Muggle world. Bloody hell she thought I only have five minutes left! Unfortunately she was not fast enough to avoid the infamous Weasley twins heading straight at her and Lillian McGonagall fell very ungracefully onto the cold stone pavement.

"Oh for Merlin's sake!" She cried out as she landed.

"Oh hullo McGonagall , what are you doing down there?" Fred Weasley had crouched down in front of her and was now smirking wickedly.

"Oi Fred! Help the poor girl up!" The twins were now joined by Lee Jorden, Lillian's commentary partner at every Qudditch match.

'Yes please," Lillian agreed softly, not sure if Fred had heard her.

"Alright then, would you like any help with you luggage?" He grinned at her as he grasped her wrist and pulled her up a bit roughly.

Together the three boys got their luggage and Lillian's onto the train safely, thankfully with no more mishaps. Then the boys said they had some epic pranks to plan and waving her goodbye as they raced down to the front of the train. Lillian herself strolled down past the carriages greeting people she knew and smiling at the ones she didn't.

'LILLY!!!!!" Cho Chang rushed up to hug her, beaming. "How are you?"

"Cho, I missed you so much," Lillian grinned back, thrilled to see her best friend.

"We have so much to catch up about," said Cho as she dragged Lillian into a nearby compartment as the train started to leave the station. Their roommate Marietta was there as well.

Cho started talking about her summer visiting her relatives in Scotland. Marietta chatted to them about a hair product she discovered in the Muggle world that helped her tame her curly strawberry-blonde hair. Then they asked how Lillian's summer was. She was about to answer when a very blonde-haired girl slid open the compartment door. The girl gave off an aura of distinct dottiness. Perhaps it was the fact that she had stuck her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping, or that she had chosen to wear a necklace of Butterbeer caps, or that she was reading a magazine upside down.

"Have any of you seen some Nargles flying around the train?" she asked in a rather dreamy sort of voice. Of course Lillian couldn't tell but it would have sort of matched her appearance.

"Nargles?!? What in Merlin's beard are those?" Marietta snorted. 'Oh don't tell me, they're some sort of creatures from that nasty magazine called the Quibbler, aren't they? What utter nonsense!' As one could see Marietta had little imagination and was quite rude at certain times.

"My daddy is the publisher of the Quibbler, and no they are quite real," the girl frowned, "you don't seem like a very nice person, do you?"

Marietta gasped. "How dare you! Who do you think you are?!?"

"Marietta stop, please apologize to...." Lillian paused as the girl hadn't introduced herself yet.

"Luna Lovegood, I'm a first year," Luna answered Lillian's unspoken question.

"My name is Lillian McGonagall, I'm a third year and these are my friends, Cho Chang and Marietta Edgecomb. It's a pleasure to meet you." Lillian smiled.

"Sure it is," Marietta rolled her eyes.

Cho frowned not liking how rude her friend was being. "Marietta just apologize now and everything will be okay."
