“What?” Taehyung nearly screamed, almost ready to turn his head around and look at those cars if it wasn't for the hand wrapped around his own like a warm blanket.
“Don't look, we don't want to alert them” Taehyung gulped.
It's so fucking hard to not look back, like a Ghost is standing behind him, tempting the omega to just turn.
“Why...” he whispers out of fear, tightening his hold on their son.
God, what are they gonna do?
Jungkook rubs his temple with his finger, letting go of Tae's hand to change the gear.
“My Ex boss...” The alpha whispered simply, emphasising on the ‘Ex’ to make it clear that he did not try to lie to Taehyung. He left the job and has no intention to go back to that, even though he's well aware that it's not so easy to just leave behind everything.
The reason he knows it's done by his Ex boss is because he recognized that car. It's the one he himself has used multiple times.
It's a company car, the company Jungkook used to work for. The unnamed elite company which hires and produces assassins.
“What? Why!?”
“Because I'm one of his best! Taehyung, I left just like that! I gave no explanation. I just left like that, I'm surprised he didn't try to reach me sooner” Jungkook feels irritation make its way in his heart with each passing minute.
He's not annoyed because of Taehyung, he's annoyed because he's not sure how to get them out of here and the omega’s panicked scent isn't helping him to think straight.
It's taking everything in him to not just stop the car at a side and comfort his omega. His scent is suffocating and he can feel his wolf standing up in alert for the omega.
His wolf has always been too attached to the omega. If the myths weren't just that, myths. A part of Jungkook would believe that his wolf has imprinted on the omega. That's why what the omega thinks matters so much to him.
It didn't happen back then. Perhaps it started since his wolf came to know that they have a kid together, A family together.
Maybe that's the reason his wolf is so attached to taehyung. Whatever that reason is, it's not the time to dissect it. He needs to get out, that too fast. Without hurting their son or his omega even a little. Without a single scratch.
He's so caught up in his own thoughts of keeping them safe that he doesn't notice how Taehyung’s face pales.
Realisation seems to settle at the pit of his stomach at those words.
It seems to finally get to him just who exactly Jungkook is. Till now, it was easy to ignore his profession because it felt like a distinct memory.
It was easy to ignore how bloodied Jungkook’s hands are, it was easy to forget that his hands were stained with blood. That the father of his son was a god damn murderer. That he used to take lives for a living, not one but multiple. He killed multiple people.
It was easy to ignore all that because he never felt like it. It never felt like Jungkook was a killer. It was easy because the alpha never acted that way. He's sweet, how can someone so sweet take lives?
Sure, he has seen Jungkook kill his father but that almost feels like a vivid memory. Like a dream, maybe it's a trauma response which had blocked out that memory to keep him safe. Whatever the reason is, the point is, he doesn't even remember that thing more than a distinct memory.
But now it's getting to him at full force.
Taehyung shoves his nose in Eunwoo's fluffy hair, his inner omega seeking for any sort of comfort. A tear falls from his eyes and the omega hates himself just a bit more.
