Chapter 4: A Night to Remember

DING DING, DING DING! It was 7:00 in the morning. Y/n woke up to an alarm; it was Jake's. She sat up only to see Jake still asleep. Y/n then gets up and heads to the bathroom to take a shower. She looks at herself in the mirror and covers her face as she wiggles and slightly jumps around. She then removes the one piece of clothing she has on and prepares her shower and gets in. About ten minutes later y/n gets out of the shower and dries herself off. Then, she sees a beautiful dark emerald green silk robe with Jake's name on it embroidered in gold thread. Not a single wrinkle or crease in it and it was so smooth to the touch. Y/n didn't want to walk around Jake's house naked because that wouldn't be right. So, she puts on the robe and walks back to the bedroom to put her clothes back on. When she gets there she sees Jake playing on his phone.

Jake looks up and sees y/n wearing his robe. With widened eyes, he gets up and walks over to her. He then crosses his arms and looks her up and down. Suddenly, Jake reaches his arm out to touch the sleeve. "Oh? What does my little princess think she's doing? Was the shower to your liking?" Y/n freezes in place because of how caring Jake is. She then responds. "I mean yeah it was nice. But about the-" Jake then reaches his hand out and his hand and starts to play with y/n's hair. "It's alright you can use my robe whenever you'd like. Now, we need to get ready for work!" Y/n agrees and both get dressed. Jake gets dressed first and walks out so y/n can have some privacy.

After the two got dressed, Jake went downstairs to make breakfast. When y/n was done she too went downstairs to eat. When she got to the kitchen she saw that Jake had just finished cooking. The smell of pancakes and coffee filled the entire house. Y/n goes to sit down and looks at her meal. She watches as the room-temperature butter melts on the hot and fresh goods. The girl was amazed by the sight then Jake came to join her. Right as both of them were about to eat, together they said "Thank you for the meal" and ate. After they eat, they get ready, put their shoes on, and head to work.

When they arrived at the office, Maddie was at the entrance waiting for Jake to exit his car. Maddie sees Jake get out and as she's about to go see him, she sees y/n get out of the passenger side. Maddie's blood begins to boil. She then stops in her tracks and goes back into the building. Y/n was standing outside the car watching Maddie walk away in anger. Then, Jake comes around to the other side of the car and puts his arm around Y/n's shoulder. They smile at each other, shrug their shoulders, and walk in.

A couple of hours later into work and everyone is busy doing their own thing. At the moment, they're all working on a huge project for a company. Basically like the collaboration, no one asked for keeping everyone on their feet. The deadline is today and the project is to design and approve a new department in this OTHER company. The only question that everyone in the office has is, why are we doing work for another company?

Already, Jake is getting complaints about the project saying that it's too much work and that the other departments at the office should be helping out. Jake tries to explain that the project was given to them specifically and they weren't allowed to share it with anyone else. No one expected it but Jake is doing the most work out of everyone.

Y/n has done a lot of work already and decided that she wants to take a break. When she walks to the coffee machine, she walks by Jake's office and takes a peek inside to see what he's doing. She noticed that Jake had his head down and she started to wonder why. After y/n makes her cup of coffee, she makes one for Jake and brings it to him.

Y/n opens the door and closes it behind her, locking it just in case someone was to barge in. She places the drink on an empty coaster and sits in the chair in front of him. "Hey Jake, are you doing alright? I noticed that you had your head down." Y/n says in a calming voice not paying attention to if Jake was awake or not. Jake groans as he starts to sit up, "It's been a long day y/n; wait never mind it's only been a couple of hours. I can't even lie to you, this damn company told me something WAY more simple but now look where we are. If we can get this done today I'll take our whole group to get a drink after work."
