Chapter 2: Dinner for Two?

 Y/n leaves Jake's office and see's Maddie outside. She was trying to sneak peeks at what the two were talking about. Maddie was jealous at first. She could see through the window what went on in there and she was now furious. "Hey Maddie, were you waiting to talk to Mr. Jake?" Y/n says as if nothing has happened but also tries to be polite. "Yes, but I didn't mind the wait, so you're fine!" Maddie says sarcastically. Then she pushes y/n more to the side and bursts open the door and walks in as if she and the boss were already in a relationship.

"Jakie boo I'm here!" Says Maddie running to Jake and giving him a big hug, her arms around his waist. Jake was in shock about the sudden outburst. He gently grabs her arms and pulls her off with the same stern and serious look on his face, not making eye contact. He seemed irritated. Maddie seemed confused because she usually gets her way. "Baby, are you alright? What's wrong?" Jake doesn't answer. The clueless girl starts to pout and then starts to throw a tantrum; stomping her feet in anger while walking out of the room. Jake doesn't bother closing the door and goes to sit in his chair.

Y/n leans over to see the boss appearing stressed out; his hand on his head like he was having a headache. She walks in quietly calling out Jake's name while closing the door behind her. Jake takes his hand off his head and looks up. It was y/n. She wanted to help out and understand his side of the story.

"Oh y/n, it's you. Do you need something?" Jake says with a tired look on his face.

"I saw and heard everything Jake" Y/n says very concernedly.

Jake tries to back himself up saying he hasn't done anything wrong but y/n can see right through him. She could tell if he was telling the truth or not and he was. The girl walks to the boss while he's still sitting in his chair and hugs him around his chest from behind when her head rests on his shoulders. While y/n does this, that's when Jake realizes that she understands the situation. Both smile and y/n leaves to go back to her desk. Hours pass and Jake is about to finish his last work. He looks over at the clock to see the time. It was 5 pm; time for work to end that day. Jake looks outside of his room to see if anyone was still there because he decided this was the one day everyone could leave early but he still saw y/n working hard at her desk. He walks over to y/n and puts his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, are you ready for that dinner?" Y/n continues typing and then finishes. She nods her head and the couple leaves for their first dinner date.

They arrived at the restaurant and it was the most expensive one in the area. Y/n looks at Jake wondering if they were actually going to be eating at such a place. "Hey Jake, are you sure this is the place? It's literally the priciest restaurant in this city!" Jake looks at y/n showing a small smile. "You know, I wouldn't've picked the most expensive restaurant if I didn't have money, wouldn't I?" Jake winks at y/n and she slightly blushes. They both walk in and there is a receptionist. The woman looks up and sees Jake and y/n together and lets out a sly smile. Little did they know, Maddie also works at the restaurant that Jake picked. She wears some sort of disguise when she works there so people she sees at the office won't know she works at such a high-end place.

"Hi, welcome to Skydome Restaurant and Bar! You are Jake I assume? Private room, two members, dinner planned for 5:30 pm, and reservation made at 4:16 pm am I correct?" Jake and y/n look at each other in shock. Jake was also kinda confused that the woman behind the desk knew all of his information on the spot. Almost stalkerish.

"Um yes actually, how did you know?" He wanted answers.

"Oh? Well, only three people made reservations for a private room including you. It's just that you made your most recent and the other people are already here, so I just guessed. Plus you appear to still be in your work outfits." Not knowing what to say Jake and y/n look at each other then look back at the receptionist and nod their heads. Maddie stands there smiling trying oh so hard not to break her cover. "Well, that's great to hear! Here's your key card; it has your room number on it just in case you ever need to see it! By the way, the views in these private rooms are beautiful and it will for sure be worth every drop of your money."
