RECONNECTED

CHAPTER 24

I wasn't expecting to wake up to a cop on the other side of the door stating that Ace's dad got killed in a crash. Ace talks to the cop about what and how it happened, while I'm just in the background listening while I keep checking on Vlad. The cop finally leaves, and Ace shuts the door.
"Are you okay?" I asked
"Yeah. Not really sure how I should feel at this point. But we gotta call granny, and mom..." He said looking at me.
"Call mom, and granny and let them know what's going on." I told him.
"Okay I'll be right back." He said to me. While he calls them.
I'm on the bed feeding Vlad when he comes back.
"What do we do now?" I asked.
"We just wait, mom will be home tomorrow." He said looking down and me and Vlad.
He gets into bed.
"We need sleep." He said turning of the light.
"Goodnight." I said
"Goodnight. I love you babe." He said and kissed Vlad and and I on our foreheads.
"I love you too" I said
Few hours later Ace wakes up. Which wakes me up.
" I'll be back." He said
"Where you going?" I asked
"Gotta go to the police station." He said back.
"OH okay, well becareful" I said.
"I will. Mom will be home in a few hours." He said kissing my forehead.
The next few hours while Ace is at the police station and it's just vlad and I until Michele gets home. I feed vlad. And watch a movie until Michele gets home. Few seconds later I hear the door. I pick vlad up from his swing and we head into the living room where she is. She drops her bags and cries  to us. Giving her a hug. Cause at the point there is nothing you can do. But let someone know that you are there for them. "I'm so sorry yall had to go through that alone. And I'm sorry I wasn't here for yall." She said crying while hugging me. "It's okay mom, I just want to make sure you're okay. And how you're handling this." I said rubbing her back.  "I don't know Alyssa. I really don't.  And I know Ace went to the police station and to the hospital to confirm it was him. I just can't believe Ky is really gone." She said through sobs. "I know. I know and I'm sorry you had to find out this way." I said. Trying to calm her down. "I just want him back." She said to me. "I know you do and If I could I would bring him back." I said looking at her, trying not to cry myself. "Can I hold vlad?" She asked. "Of course, you don't have to ask. And plus I'm pretty sure he missed his Nana. I'm gonna give yall two some time alone so yall can spend time together." I said walking out of the room.
