Let's move quickly to the chapter before I bore you up with my last stressful days😂
Chapter 8
Mrs Baker and her husband went quickly to the hospital to pick up her pregnancy test result. After picking it up, their family doctor told them their baby was six weeks old and gave them some advice about pregnancy and they both left the hospital together.Happiness was evident on Mrs Baker's face after knowing how old her baby was that, it was good to Mr Baker because his wife forgot about Audrey's dating issue at school. Later on, they both left to their workplace.
**THREE DAYS LATER**
@ **PEAK ONLY HIGH SCHOOL GARDEN**
" George, I think we should listen to our parents. They make a very good point. We have exams coming up soon and we need to be focused. Just because we top the class, it doesn't guarantee us passing our external exams so I think our parents are right this time with that point" Audrey told George concerned about their future." Amor, are you listening to my dad right now? Because that all I see you doing. Obeying his instructions. Babe I love you and I know you do love me too, so why are we having this conversation of we breaking up" George told Audrey, holding her face with both hands and caressing it gently for thirty seconds before releasing both hands.
"Because it's essential that we pass our exams before any love affair can continue, that's the very least we can do for our parents. So George, after our exams we can come back together. Please understand me, no one is in support of this relationship which is even bad for one which just began, I have thought about all this seriously in the last few days" Audrey kept trying to convince him
" Personally, I don't like this idea Audrey. Don't you think it's just a plan to separate you and I? If you insist, I will do just that for you but after our exams, I am never letting you go" George said while Audrey smiled.
"Would someone tell me what's going on here? The both of you alone after long break " Miss Abigail shouted as she entered the school's garden and met Audrey and George. They both stood up from the bench where they sat immediately after they saw Miss Abigail arrive.
"We didn't know that, we didn't hear the bell ring" George answered with his face lowered to the ground
" Yes ma" Audrey supported George
" Oh really? That simply means I as your teacher, I am a liar...
" Never. We are really sorry ma" They both apologized and tried running out of the garden when Miss Abigail words stopped them.
"Going somewhere the both of you?" Miss Abigail said and Audrey &George turned to face her
"Our classroom ma" They answered with a frown on their faces
" Well I'm sorry because your attention is needed in my office, it so happens that some punishment for you both awaits there. So don't keep me waiting and of course I'm leaving first" Miss Abigail excused them and left to her office.
"Miss Abigail never wants to see us together George.." Audrey complained and began to throw tantrums.
"Babe, no one wants to see us together, we only have ourselves which is all the support we need okay" George reassured Audrey
" Always finding a silver lining up in the dark clouds, don't you?" Audrey smiled.
" Sure. But we better hurry else the punishment met just get doubled
@**THE BAKER'S HOME**
Mabel rushed down the stairs quicky to open the entrance for to the living room as someone had been constantly pressing the bell button. She opened the door and met her mother with anhandbag on a right shoulder which Mabel took immediately.Ifeoma shouted a minute later, asking who was at the door and since she didn't get any reply from her sister came down the stairs quicky to meet their mother already seated on the couch, so she quickly bend a little to greet her mother.
" Mother, how was your trip? And Mrs Okeke? And the babies? How was the journey?" Ifeoma asked her mother continually without stopping while their mother kept staring at Ifeoma with a tired look.
"Aunty Ifeoma, Mother just got back from the village yet you are asking her so many questions, which one do you want to answer?" Mabel cautioned her elder sister.
"Mother, can you see Mabel scolding me and you are not saying anything. And if I smack her across her face, I will seem like the bad person" Ifeoma said, anger evident on her face then wanted to slap Mabel but her mother stopped her by a glare.
She just dropped her right hand while Mabel looked bullied while their mother rolled her eyes at the unnecessary quarrel and asked the both of them to sit down on the couch she was seated on, Mabel to her left, Ifeoma to the right.
" Have I missed a lot that has happened in this home since this home is full of drama. And yes the trip was okay thanks to almighty God and of course Mrs Okeke, her daughter and the babies are very well, Mrs Okeke sent her greetings too" Mabel's mother said and smiled at her daughter's.
" Well Mother, you know in your absence we don't come out of our rooms even for a second . Brother is very strict with us, during dinner he could glare at us all through the meal. Even for a minute, utter a word by mistake- he said he would send us packing and that he meant it" Mabel complained with a little pout.
"Yes Mother. Mabel is right, sometimes brother can be very scary" Ifeoma supported her sister, bitter about the same issue.
" He is my son" Their mother said and smiled widely
" Mother, I don't always understand you. One minute you are against all of them and another minute you are liking them. Mother you are either against people or with them, you can't sit on the fence; that's what you've taught us so Mother tell us what's happening. Is there some master plan you are coming up with?" Ifeoma asked, cautious of the tone with which she asked her mother.
" You know me so well my daughter. I can't sit here and watch how this family never gets an heir. I have talked to your brother but he is adamant so he is leaving me with no choice than to do it forcefully. But about my plan, don't worry. You know your mother, she doesn't fail at this things, now tell me about all that happened while I was at Mrs Okeke house" Mabel's mother said and they both nodded quickly to it.
Then Mabel told her about the only news they got in the home as they were inside their rooms all through which was that her youngest grand daughter was in love and their mother widened her eyes and began placing faults as usual on Mrs Baker and a couple of old stories of how love was then in her days which marriage first, love later on or never. Ifeoma and Mabel were engaged in the story their mother was telling them.
