8: Wedding Day
Wedding day. Here it is. The day that I am getting tied down to my fiance and this realm.
Becoming Ace's wife? No big deal. I love the guy. In fact, I am greatly excited that I get to change my last name.
Why am I acting like a nervous wreck, you ask? Well, that's because no one told me that my wedding day would also be my crowning ceremony as QUEEN of Gija — yeah, I am aware that I pulled an Ace there.
Queen? Me as a QUEEN!? This has got to be a joke.
I know that I have taken lessons, but that does not mean that I am ready to be responsible for the entire kingdom. Well, as far as all kingdoms go.
If anyone has been with me for a while now, you all should know that I am not good when it comes to responsibility.
"I need AIR!" I scream.
Before I could get my head out of the carriage, my sister and Jen pulled me back. After that, Viex and Custard strapped me down.
"Any more air, and you are going to mess up your hair!" Jen is screaming in my ear. If you guys can't tell, she's already at the end of her ropes with me. Who can blame her when I have been a dancing pants since I woke up?
Is this what they call "wedding jitters"?
"I need air! It's too hot in here!" I continue to scream.
"Want me to freeze you?" Stella, who is in the same carriage as me, suggests.
"That would be a great idea!" I say.
"No, it's not!" Jen lets out a sigh of frustration. "Stella, do not freeze your sister! She's not thinking straight right now."
"I agree. I really am not thinking straight at the moment." I nod my head in a daze.
"Why not? If I freeze her, she cannot move. I'll just put her in temporary stasis." Stella tells Jen.
"Ooh! That's a great idea right there. I want to be in stasis. That sounds so sci-fi there. Can we change genres for my wedding and be space heroes? The bride arrive in an ice capsule and-"
"Stella, look what you have done. You have fed your sister ideas, and now she wants to be a power ranger." Jen places a hand stressfully on her forehead.
"Can I be the green ranger?" I turn to Jen with a pleading gaze. "Ren can be the bride. It will be part two of Renevier and Lady Grace."
"Rose, shut up."
"Yes. I'll shut up, mom." I folded my hands over my lap and on top of my white wedding dress. I don't know what is happening with me and why I am so damn nervous. All I know is that I was so nervous as hell that I started counting on the beadwork on my dress.
And there's a lot of them for me to count!
"Rose, I am not your mom. I am – ugh! Nevermind. This is what I get for agreeing to be your maid of honor."
"It's an honor to become a maid? Wow! Did you get an award?"
Stella starts to chuckle, while Jen looks like she is about to cry. Viex and Custard were even looking at each other with worry.
When the carriage finally comes to a stop, the chauffeur opens the door. Custard, Viex, Stella, and Jen come out first before I do. My sister and my best friend help me arrange my wedding dress as soon as I step down so it can flow properly around me and allow the detailed bead work to be seen by all.
The wedding is held in the kingdom of Tordis, which makes our wedding an outdoor wedding. Everything around us is full of greenery and vines intertwining against each other as pillars, and I can only think of one elf who can do all of these.
