Initially, Xichen already figured out all the transactions the younger made in the past hours. The sun has already up and shining yet his eyes were still wide awake. Exhaustion hasn't taken over him just yet, his heart still weeping from even after telling his brother the whole situation.
By the morning, he already found out that he closed his bank accounts and withdrawn all his remaining money. He also knew the places where he last went, thanks to the people he hired.
After finding out that Wuxian is out of the country and on his way to Turkey, he immediately went to the airport, thanks to his millions dollar private plane, he was immediately too to the country he wishes to go to.
.
Wangji was sad finding out that he was too late. Hearing how smitten his brother is with his first love is a sign for him to give up already.
He loved Wuxian. He left his home country without showing his face and seeing him because he knew it'll be hard for him to leave that way. He chose to send him a message after he left, hoping that he was able to tell Wuxian his true feelings. He decided to do his work as fast as he could to finish it earlier than his expected date, so if he comes back, he'll be able to tell him face to face.
But he didn't think it through. His first love finished before it can even start to bloom. He can't even defy his brother because he knew how much it'll hurt him if he knew his feelings for his brother's lover.
He swallows all the thorns on his throat as he listens intently to the older's words. Hearing him sob which is a rare sight for Xichen, he knew he was deeply in love with Wuxian. He doesn't have the guts to fight him over and so he decides to let go of his feelings.
.
Xichen arrived in Turkey around the afternoon after a journey of more than nine hours on the plane. He immediately heads his way to Wangji's office.
Since the younger Lan had already lived there for more than half a year, he assumes that he knew the place pretty well.
After arriving at Wangji's office at one of their headquarters in the country, he sits himself on the sofa in his office.
"Brother, you're here that fast," Wangji stated whilst calling his secretaries using hand gestures and telling them to bring something to drink. "You must be hungry from the long ride, I shall order something for us to feast while you're still here," he offered before turning his attention to his secretaries to instruct them.
He was then left with Xichen alone in his office, though Wangji felt remorse being with the older, he knows that Xichen needed the comfort right now. He'll just give any help as long as he can, because at the end of the day, even if his heart is aching just by seeing him, Xichen is still his brother, the one who took him away from the painful life he had.
"Do you have any whiskey there?" Xichen requested, his eyes are all swollen, tiredness is obviously written in his orbs, bags hanging under his eyes, and his body slumped frail on the wide sofa.
Wangji sighs, shaking his head. "I don't. Plus, you need water more than alcohol, look how shitty you look!" he comments. He doesn't have whiskey but he does have wines, but Xichen doesn't need to know that.
Xichen sighs exasperatedly, pouting like a kid as his head rested on the backrest of the sofa. "Your office is lame!" he complains.
Wangji rolls his eyes before walking back to his swivel chair, "Just wait for the food. You should eat first before we discuss your purpose of heading here," he replied, scanning through the paper works he stopped doing when the older arrived.
Xichen just sighed but still, he closed his eyes. Hearing his brother's concern kind of made his whole body succumb to the exhaustion, his throbbing in pain head finally slowly relaxing. Until he didn't notice, he fell asleep.
.
The food had long gotten cold when Xichen woke up, he must've worn himself out too much that his sleep was almost a seven-hour sleep which he hasn't had after taking over his father's gang and businesses.
"You could've woken me up!" he complains upon sitting up from his uncomfortable position, he cups his left shoulder where the pain is located and gently rubs them to ease them out.
"I figured you needed rest after all the chaos," Wangji answered while his eyes are still glued to his paperwork.
Xichen only clicked his tongue at him before eyeing the food on the table, his stomach immediately grumbling after seeing them laid.
"Mind if I eat these?" He asked, already grabbing the spoon and forks that come with them.
Wangji glanced for a second before turning back to his work, "Mhm. I was planning to bring you to a restaurant because the food had gotten cold, guess you're hungry after a wonderful sleep," he comments, turning to the next page.
"Whatever, my stomach can't wait anyway!" he remarks and started opening them one by one.
It was a minute of silence and only the sound of chewing was heard in the office, but Wangji decided to break it.
"By the way, father called," he suddenly interrupted,
Xichen was not even intrigued and continued eating but he answers anyway, "What'd he say?" he asked, words muffled as he chews.
"He asked where are you and why did you leave your post," he replied, glancing at his brother for a second.
Xichen scoffs, "Old man really sucks, I'm in the middle of love trouble and yet he's letting me work?!" he complains before putting a spoonful in his mouth.
Wangji shrugs, "I told him you're here. And he also told me to shoo you away from here and go home," he answers casually.
Xichen clicks his tongue, "Screw him!" he curses.
"You know how terrifying he is. I think you should comply before he finds the root of rebelling," he answers whilst flipping to another page.
Xichen groans, cursing under his breath at how right Wangji is. he pouts, "But! He is here in this country! I must find him!" He wails.
Wangji's ears perked up at what he said, but he pretends he was not interested, so he hums, "You choose," he just utters monotonously.
"How will I be able to find hi—" he stopped midsentence after realizing, maybe he'd be able to find him without him being there himself. And he's sure that Wuxian had already fallen out of love with Wangji. "—how about you find him for me? yeah?" he pleads.
Wangji's interest was piqued, his eyes meeting with the older's. Though he hid the excitement behind his eye-rolling, "Fine, just this once," he accepts, his heart beating with excitement in his chest.
